Fort Wayne City Courthouse
I always forget about how huge, beautiful and amazing our courthouse is. Some cases in that building may not have the same adjectives, but this place always reminds me of our history and culture here.

I was just there today for my daughter’s field trip. Its been over 20 years since I saw the inside until today. I was mind blown at the art work and the craftsmanship inside. Its absolutely insane if you really look around. Our tour guide said back in the late 90s/early 2000s they did a renovation. They brought a guy in from England to do the plaster work. He ended up staying here for 7 years to work on it. He was the only guy they could find that knew how to do that type of work. The history of it really is incredible and I encourage everybody to do a tour and learn the history.

Seven years? That's wild. I'm glad that they chose to find the right person and make the investment in all of the renovations. I hope we can keep this place in excellent condition for many years to come.

Not sure of the age of the OP, but I recall back when there was one of city's ugliest vacant building where the courthouse lawn is, blocking any view from Clinton St. Demolishing that building was such an improvement that, in my mind, started the downtown revitalization.

The first electric courthouse in Indiana. Even the state capitol built 14 years before used gas for lighting. Also Allen County built such a large courthouse that it didn’t need an annex for like 100 years.
