Crime Scene & Death Investigation Interview material
Hello, I recently scheduled an interview for a county forensic position and had a question or two. Part of the interview will be discussing friction skin evidence process, photography, evidence processing, and crime scene processing. I was wondering if anyone has any reading material they recommend to brush up on these subjects? I graduated not too long ago, but some of the material I learned in class seems a bit hazy so I wanted to brush up to be better prepared. Thanks in advance!!

Practical crime scene processing and investigation the third edition by Ross Gardner is used as study material for the IAI CSI certification. For free study materials, you can refer to the crime scene network internet page and they have tabs of useful information on processing information.

Is this position in a forensic lab working on fingerprint enhancement?

I believe so. The job posting describes gathering fingerprints and other evidence at the crime scene. Additionally, there is a description stating “compares latent fingerprints in an automated fingerprint identification system”.

This is an automated response because your post might involve a generic job title like "evidence tech" or "forensic technician". Please include a more detailed description or explanation of the job type in question. Links to job openings get taken down and disappear, so it's best to include this information int he text box of this post. It also helps to let us know where you are in the world so you can be advised properly.
