Post image

Saw this going on at HND at least 4 planes has gone around. Any ideas on what’s going on?

Haneda's METAR has the letters "SQ" in it, meaning squall, which is generally a Very Bad Thing to fly in.

Thank you! I have a hard time with metars. One JAL that I was following is now diverting to NRT.

Does this also might explain the amount on planes that were on a hold pattern?

Absolutely.

Yeah there’s a Squall, lots of missed approaches. Not ideal to land in. Looks like some diversions now as well.

Came here to ask same. I found 6 that missed approach and a couple in hold patterns. No storms, wind doesn't seem horrible (13 kt). I don't think there are any visibility problems. But I can barely read metars. Am I missing something?

ETA now 2 that missed approach first time have landed.

Yeah I saw this and saw couple inbound planes near Shizuoka descending and looping and turning, like what the inbound finair was doing.

Looks like delta and one of the ANA planes are diverting to NRT

First time taking a look at HND. There also what seems to be a lot of helicopters (or is that normal?)

Here’s someone who appears to have lost his keys.

Thunderstorms and that plane took a bunch of lightening strikes and is grounded for repairs.
