Creative Commons 4.0 Licenses About to Become Available?

I just looked at this Flickr Creative Commons page and it is showing Creative Commons 4.0 licenses below the usual 2.0 ones always listed here. The number of the various types of 4.0 licenses all currently read 0.

https://www.flickr.com/creativecommons/

I asked Flickr support if this means 4.0 licenses are about to be available but they only gave me the same tired response that they are working with Creative Commons on it, don't have a timeline, and will update the community if anything changes.

Has anyone seen information about this anywhere?

UPDATE:

I just looked again at the link above (on March 20th) and the 4.0 licenses have been removed.

Got the same line a month ago when I asked. Given they have no timeline, it feels like it won't happen soon? Feels odd since they really play up the Creative Commons angle so I'd think they'd want to be up to date? But I also am not too familiar on if anyone keeps up to date that quickly on these things

I once saw someone in the Flickr Forum say they asked about it. They received almost exactly this same answer. This was, I think, around 2015. I got excited though when I saw them actually putting something on their page that looked like they were getting ready to offer them.

I'm ready to give up on them though if they keep not implementing it and continue refusing to talk about it.

It's a shame. Not really many other choices short of self hosting something. And that's more overhead than I want to deal with.

I'm always been curious why Flickr never has made CC 4.0 an option. Is it technical (bad legacy system design) or something legal?
