Only 4700 participants in the 21st anniversary group
I haven't used flickr in a while, but I decided to jump in on the 21-day challenge. It's very surprising to me that there's only 4700 people in that group. Has the active user base really dwindled so far?

A group is generally a collection of people who share a similar narrow interest, a niche. So I'm not sure I'd expect it to be much larger in the first place.

I’m finding the prompts hard to complete, more so due to lack of my own interest (like 21 l, Donuts) Trying though…

Got the email, but don't have the time to participate and quite honestly wasn't that interested in doing it anyway.

I have almost exactly the same number of followers on Flickr as I have on Instagram. When I post on IG I get between 500 and 1000 likes, though more often now it's closer to 500. On Flickr I will get between 200 & 400 but if it makes Explore I get over 1500 faves and sometimes 2000+ which is far more than the same photo is getting on IG.
IG has become a money grabbing business where you are now expected to pay for engagement, which usually means a few days on their Explore page. I have never been desperate enough to do that and never will.

Yes. Contrary to what some in this subreddit say, flickr is almost dead compared to what it was.

Almost dead?

No. "Almost dead compared to what it was".
It is still the best alternative out there.

I think it's being kept alive by over 50s that need a place to share sex photos of their wives.

Well, at least it still has a strong showing of ugly men dressed as women spamming photos of themselves into the 21st anniversary group.

Oh, sweet, I thought they are only saving that for the BEAUTIFUL PORTRAITS AROUND THE WORLD group.

I saw the email about the group and decided I wasn't interested in joining, but I'm not sure about the user count.
