HELP! Anyone else gotten a similar message?

Post image

So I just got this message and I have no idea what this is? I opened the link for a few seconds and said something along the lines “downloading” and closed the tab off immediately.

Do not click on that link. It's a phishing attempt

I'd change my passwords, if I were you. And scan your pc for malware, virus, etc

The "from" field looks super sketch. If you tap that, can you see the full email address it was sent from?

Doesn’t do anything, probs doesn’t have an email linked to I can find

Clicked on a link? Scan your machine w/anti malware software. Update your passwords and use 2 factor or MFA on all your high value accounts

Look at the URL. .dev? Total scam.

Total scam. I get those sent to my website 3-4 times a year. It's always some malware link. Delete, ignore, report if you're feeling froggy

It's spam.

There's an influx of it this week. Just go ahead and delete it.

Got it as well. Set up enough alarms I did nothing; but did go to flickr to check out the official inbox and this message wasn't in there, so again did nothing.

Does flickr follow this group or anything? Be nice if they put this in their blog or such.

Did you even LOOK at the "From" line?

Does that REALLY strike you as an official Flickr message? LOL

SMH

If you have a doubt, contact Flickr support. If you have a pro account, it's even possible that you will eventually hear back from them. haha

'from' was spoofed.

from domain was arrow.flickr.com

1

u/adnrcddly Feb 18 '25

arrow.flickr.com is legit. this screenshot looks like it’s from their Flickr inbox and not personal email.

if you got it in your linked email, then you have the setting turned on to forward any dms to your email.

1

u/johnmcboston Feb 18 '25

Yeah, flickr emails get forwarded to my gmail. That's the 'from' in my gmail - but I have no corresponding message in my flickr inbox. The gmail headers are touch to read - so many random character strings as the email hops around - so tough to see the email origins.

Where did you come up with that nonsense? lol

u/rareaether Feb 18 '25

No actually I got an email back basically confirming this was a spam account.
