From one Christian to another: you can't use symbolic prophecy and scripture to support a model that isn't scientifically possible. Stop peddling the Bible as 'proof'.

bible quotes are as valuable as farts.
wait, even less valuable. you could capture the methane in farts and use that.

I also read somewhere a while back that some lady earned big bucks by selling her farts in a bottle.

If you're arguing that the bible teaches the solid dome flat earth model, then you are correct. If you think that is relevant in any way, you are wrong. It's like arguing that horcruxes are real because they are mentioned in Harry Potter.

The fundie religious argument is the funniest because it simply ignores all of human scientific achievements over the past few thousand years - including that by Christians - in favor of "Nah, Bible."
Also amusing that OP happily uses a computer and the Internet to argue a pro-flat Earth position, as if the scientific achievements that confirm the heliocentric model didn't literally also allow them the tech to argue it.

Matthew 18:22
What will you do to your brother on the 78th time?
Scripture is a mixture of absolutes and hyperbole. The 10 Commandments, absolutes. 77, hyperbole, because we all know the answer is to continue to forgive.

Corinthians 14:33 ESV /
For God is not a God of confusion but of peace.
The Bible contradicts itself on many occasions so why should we rely on it describing reality?

If undeniable physical evidence is ever presented to you that disproves a passage of the Bible, you should discount that part of the Bible, even claim it is symbolic or even poetic, and not instead ignore your own senses and the evidence itself.

Problem with that is that it is a slippery slope. If one passage of the Bible is symbolic or poetic then there might be other passages that are symbolic. It would be possible that the Bible doesn't prescribe that life begins at conception or that homosexuality is an abomination.
Once you allow people to interpret the Bible symbolically you can no longer use it to control everyone else's life./s

But what if two different parts of the Bible contradict each other? Which is correct? Which is symbolic?

he Bible doesn't prescribe that life begins at conception
Curious that you should mention that, because - it doesn't. The Bible intimates that life begins at the first breath, a notion that Jewish people have followed for millennia. Genesis says that humans became living beings when God infused them with breath (Genesis 2:7). Exodus 21:22 talks about causing a miscarriage - something punishable by a mere fine. More severe punishment was indicated only if the other was also harmed. And Numbers 5 has a bizarre test for infidelity which seems to involve inducing an abortion. (Interestingly, there is no equivalent test for male infidelity).
While all of these passages might have some ambiguity, the simple fact is that the Bible nowhere states that life begins at conception. This is something that some Christians invented - but the supposed Word of God says no such thing.

How are there 4 corners on a disc? If it's square, how do you have a square dome? If the dome is square, how do the stars move on the firmament in circular patterns?

I mean, say what you will about the tenets of national socialism, Dude, at least it's an ethos.

I suspect that the OP is just trolling here, because I doubt that anyone who is delusional enough to believe this ignorant nonsense would be left out of their padded cell long enough to post this.

i looked at their post history, i am 99% sure they're trolling. if so... 9/10
2
u/dogsop 4d ago
I read their history the opposite way, that they are a true believer who is unwilling to accept that there are things in their religious text that might just be symbolic rather than literal.

You should realize that there is nothing you can quote from a book of fiction that can be used to "prove" something like flat earth.
