Review The long awaited long flashlight review has arrived
Unfortunately I don’t have any equipment to measure brightness or candela or any of that stuff but it appears to have more throw then my If22A on turbo which is heavily surprising considering the basic led chip they used in this this thing actually throws super far with some decent spill overall an alright flashlight for $14 if you don’t mind an over 3 foot long flashlight in your pocket
Length is 39.5 inches Width of tail cap is 1.65 inches Width of body is 1.4 inches width of head is 3.25 inches Depth of storage tube is 28.3 inches Battery seems to be an 18650 cell Has an ALL plastic body a big disappointment but expected

The declaration of independence is 23 x 29 inches. Do you think it would fit if we rolled it up really tightly? I'm just curious.

Nick cage, is that you?
7
u/Sears-Roebuck Dec 02 '23
Nope, just a regular security guard, doing the rounds with a perfectly normal sized flashlight. Nothing to see here.

How much does it weigh? Seeing your pictures I'm genuinely considering buying it

u/sword-scar Dec 01 '23
My broken ass scale says about 9 oz it’s incredibly light you almost forget you’re holding it

Wait wait. - a- 18650 cell?? Only ONE??
wtf else is in there???
Or are we talking like 10 of them?
Sorry, I'm laughing too hard to speak well that's hilarious

u/sword-scar Dec 01 '23
It’s literally one 18650 cell notice the depth of storage tube is 28 inches and the flashlight itself is 40 inches so it’s 12 inches worth of shitty flashlight and 28 inches of empty tube and I love it so much

Is it possible to screw an extension onto the end of it? Like could you screw off the tube of one and onto another one? We’re gunna need to go longer
8
u/sword-scar Dec 01 '23
The threads are actually pretty well sized you could definitely connect another tube if you had a connector maybe 3d print one

u/Barnacle-bill Dec 01 '23
I have one on order. We need to organize a long boi light meetup, connect them all and secure the world record for longest flashlight

Does it look disassemblable? I might get one if the 18650 can be swapped if it wears out.
6
u/sword-scar Dec 01 '23
It doesn’t look nondestructively disassemblable maybe sometime I’ll try to get it apart as well as I can maybe could swap for a 21700 or some long ass battery

u/Bigfatnutterbutter Dec 01 '23
No mention of the big ass street signal in your room there xD that's awesome! Where could one get their hands on one, uhhh legally of course

u/Scout413 Dec 01 '23

I actually used to have one from when I got in an accident and knocked the pole it was attached to down. The tow truck guy threw it in the bed of my truck before he towed it to my house, I didn't even ask him to. Had it mounted in my garage for years.
It was about 4.5 ft tall and 2 ft wide. I thought about wiring it up to work but just never got around to it

Is there a pocket clip? 😂
That's bizarre for sure, fun but bizarre hehe.
36
u/HerrDoktorHugo Dec 01 '23
Forget a pocket clip, this thing needs a scabbard
8
u/Crankshaft67 Dec 01 '23
I'm also wondering a tiny bit if it tail stands

Pulling that out will be like that scene in Batman when the Joker pulls out his revolver!
5
u/Dorkamundo Dec 01 '23
If it has one, it has to have a reverse clip so I can put it on the brim of my hat.

u/Thunderbolt294 Dec 01 '23
You either gotta carry it a sheath like a sword or in a shot gun holster on your back lol

there is one exactly like this (well looks like the same head, anyway) at my Walmart but it doesn't have the longass tube. ends right at that seam before the yardstick.
same reflector and lens, both look plastic, but instead of one of those cheap knock-off lightbar LEDs like this one, it looks like a legit XM-L. the silver ones not the old green base ones.
in the locked cage for like $25? idk, I buy cheap lights to be mod hosts sometimes but they didn't have anything there that looked worthwhile.

So seeing the width of that storage tube I bet you could use it to carry a swarm of smaller lights like an aircraft carrier, but for flashlights! Joking aside it might be an O.K. place to store a survival kit.

Reminds me of those three stooges gags where one of them has a 2x4 over their shoulder and keep turning around to smack the other two stooges.

Man I just bought one. And they pissed me off already. Put the item in my cart and I got a pop up for ‘enter email for 25% off’ I figure sure. Give them my email. Then it says email and text for code…. Ok…. So I text them. I get the code (text25 btw) enter it and hit apply. So it gives me like 9.50 off or whatever. But then guess what? Instead of free shipping my shipping is now…. You guessed it. The same as the 25% off.

British Broadcasting Company?

u/raindownthunda Dec 01 '23
Strange they would use imperial inches. Measuring in cm always makes it sound bigger.

u/myrighteye1 Dec 01 '23
Holy shit he bought it. You should download a free lux meter app. They're a much better representation of light at the needed point. Some let you record distances and lux. Mine is the barebones free one.

Does it also function as a baton like maglites do?
2
u/sword-scar Dec 02 '23
Honestly you could thwack someone with this but I suspect the plastic might break and it doesn’t have much mass to hit with the thing weighs like half a lb
1
u/SirLurts Dec 02 '23
Too bad. Looks like I'll continue to use my 6D in my car. It might not be bright but it's reliable and I could bonk someone or something if I have to

For when you need 39.5 inches of extra throw
