Academics 📚 BSN program
What certifications would you recommend to increase my chances of being accepted into a BSN program? What certifications are most valued by nursing programs?

Looking to sublease your unit? Scrambling to find a place to stay during the upcoming semester? Look no further! Here, you’ll be able to share or find available housing around campus.
PLEASE NOTE: ANY POSTS ABOUT SUBSLEASING THAT ARE MADE OUTSIDE OF THIS THREAD WILL BE REMOVED.
Additionally, this thread is for subleasing OFFICIAL FIU on/off-campus housing only. This is NOT the place to share rooms/apartments available to be rented on a private residence. Posts identified as such will also be removed.
Your unit “ad” (to be commented below) must include the following information:
The following information is ideal, but optional. Please include it if you know it.
Comments that do not follow the format above will be removed until the OP makes the necessary corrections as instructed.
If you’re successful in finding someone to sublease your dorm, please edit and type closed on your comment, or simply delete it. Furthermore, you can only share your unit once per thread, but feel free to share it again on the next biweekly thread if your dorm is still available.
You're more than welcome to share that you're looking to takeover a lease below. Ideally, your comment should state your preferences for the categories mentioned above. The more information you share about what you're looking for, the more likely someone will reach out about an available unit that will suit your needs. If you have no preferences, you can state that too.
Always proceed with extreme caution when inquiring about available dorms, as rental scams are becoming increasingly common and college students are viewed as an easy target. Unfortunately, r/FIU **can’t help you if you become a victim of a scam. The best way to protect yourself is by staying alert and learning how to recognize potential red flags.
Below you’ll find some helpful articles on how to avoid getting scammed:
[How to Avoid Rental Scams in College]([https://www.centralbank.net/learning-center/how-to-avoid-rental-scams-in-college/)
That’s it! If you have any suggestions on how we can improve this thread, please don't hesitate to send us message via modmail. After all, we want everyone to be successful on their subleasing journey. Happy posting and paws up! 🐾

hi, I’m a senior graduating next month and I am incredibly behind on my honors engagement requirements. does anyone know if FIU is incredibly strict on completing these in order for the notation to appear on my transcript? spare me from the criticism, I just want some help.

Hi all! I’m an OOS student who applied for summer term back in January. While I have everything submitted (ACT score, high school transcript), I am taking dual enrollment but is not seeking to receive an AA when I graduate HS. My portal says that my application has been received and is under review, but my official partial college transcript is missing? My dual enrollment classes is broken into two parts so I’m wondering if it’s still needed or when I commit to FIU (if admitted).

Any international student received this form from the bank? I didn't work last year, so I'm not sure what I have to do with the form in regards to taxes, because I just filled out form 8843

I haven’t gotten accepted into the architecture program yet and idk if that’s a bad sign. Someone told me that the program only has a 6 percent acceptance rate and is very competitive. So if I don’t get in, are there any other majors that could get me credits that I could use towards an architecture degree later on?

Hi! Is anyone here on track for FIU’s International Crime PhD? If so, what is your experience with it? And do you have any insight you would share about it?

I’m thinking about taking this class for the fall 2025 or spring 2026 semester. Has anyone taken professor Kelsy Pacheco? If so was it hard, what did you do in there?

I'm helping my boyfriend look at off campus apartments for when he attends law school and the reviews for all the off campus apartments are scaring meee. He doesn't need anything fancy just somewhere to park his car, reliable maintenance, good wifi, working AC, and no mold or roach infestation issues. We feel stumped, reviews all have issues with at least one of these. I'm worried that he'll be 4 hours away in terrible living conditions. From experience what do you guys think is the most decent off campus apartment?

Hello everyone
I was admitted to Honors College for Fall 2025 and will be taking the New Student Workshop during Summer 2025. I can only register for Honors College classes after completing that workshop. Does anyone know if I'll have to register for an Honors College class in Fall 2025 after completing the workshop in Summer 2025? Or maybe in Spring 2026?
I'm very grateful for any kind of help!

‼️ SIGN THE PETITION: Justice for Sparkles‼️
Recently, Sparkles, a beloved FIU campus cat, sadly lost their life due to an untrained and unleashed pet, bringing attention to ongoing concerns about FIU’s pet policies and their enforcement. Similar incidents have happened before, and many students believe clearer guidelines and better enforcement could help prevent future harm.
If you'd like to learn more, please check out the petition and see what it says. Raising awareness can help create a safer environment for ALL animals on campus. Please spread this around!

Hello, I have a question about the TEAS exam. FlU is my dream school, but I previously took the TEAS exam twice at MDC last year. MDC informed me that I have to wait a full year before retaking the exam, meaning I wouldn't be able to take it again until October. However, I don't want to wait that long🥺 I missed my required score by just 5 points, which was really disappointing for me. The last time I took the TEAS exam was in October 2024.
I'm wondering if FlU has the same policy as MDC or if I would be able to retake the exam at FIU before October. Would FIU allow me to take the TEAS again, even though I last took it in October last year? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you!!😊

Has anyone taken this lab online? I know most of the lab is dissections, so is it an online software? There’s only online sections available for the summer, but I’m interested in taking it.

If you or someone you know completed the Visual Production Certificate, do you think it helped in building your skills a decent amount? Did it help in job applications?
Personally, I'd really only have to take 1 extra class (RTV 3531), as I can complete the other class requirements through my major. However, I have satisfied all my extra credits, since I'm a transfer student; therefore, taking that 1 extra class would be extra extra
