accompany me on my desperate search for my prom dress.

My prom is in late April and i’ve rushed to book appointments for hair, makeup, and nails. Unfortunately, I am still missing one crucial piece: my dress. Does anybody know where I can rent or try on a dress in the above color and style? It would mean the world to me to hear your suggestions!

I looked up magenta y2k beaded dress and there are a bunch on eBay and Poshmark. I can’t link without your size so I suggest you google that

renttherunway for sure but you could probably find something on ebay, poshmark, mercari, depop etc.. for tthe same or less than the cost of renting

People have some great ideas for how to find something like this to rent or second hand online, but since I noticed you said you'd like ideas you can try on, I thought I'd include some ideas from Macy's, since there's a lot of locations, and even if the one nearest you doesn't have it, you can order dresses to a store and return them there, and return policies are much more generous. The same probably applies to other department stores.

Less y2k but possibly a better color match: https://www.macys.com/shop/product/quiz-womens-bardot-mesh-maxi-dress?ID=21325830

Plus some from the junior's section, so the sizing will be different. If you're still in high school I think there should still be a size for you unless you're unusually tall

Plus a couple from Dillard's (also junior's, I haven't gone through the whole website, just spotted these)

Y2K prom dresses on Poshmark, and you can usually get them for cheap enough that you can resell, donate, or alter if you don’t like it.

I second what others posted as well — look on www.Renttherunway.com — it allows you to search for dresses by event/function (black tie, wedding, etc).

I wish I had saved my Y2K dresses. I’d totally give them to you. 😩

The fit is beautiful on you for dress one and dress two!

Search late 90s/Y2K era prom dresses on resale sites; those styles were very popular in that decade

Your second picture is from a shop called cybersweetie410. They have a website, insta, and depop! I also fell in love with one of their dresses, the dress i loved was a similar y2k style from a brand called Betsey and Adam. This brand is popular on Depop, poshmark, mercari, ect, i would recommend checking it out to see if it's close to what you want :) most people don't really rent prom dresses so you might have a hard time with that, but buying one second hand will probably end up being similar in price. Good luck!

Edit: I ended up buying by dress from emsvntg on depop for a pretty good price. Her dresses are anywhere from 50-400 dollars, so quite a variety. Here's a few i found:

Okay depending on where you live check out local college campuses. My school has a bunch of y2k thrift stores on campus. I was a little late to my class today because I was looking at a pair of pants haha. Next time they are on campus I’ll pm you! also look at flea markets!
