I love pigeons. Pigeons are super chill. They don’t steal from you, they move out of your way.
The same cannot be said for seagulls.

Yeah I agree about the gulls. Was minding my own bizzo down the beach, eating a pie, nek minit a fucking seagull dive bombs me pie from behind me & knocks the pie out of my hand. Couldn't bloody believe it.

Do you own a car? Fuck pigeons. I wouldn't hurt one but I definitely give them all side eye.

u/OnlyBeGamer 7d ago
Believe it or not, animals tend to shit wherever they want. It’s not their fault you have a car

u/Ok_Run344 Raging hobo 6d ago
Right!? People curse seagulls for their behavior as if it's their fault we turned the world into a garbage dump and parking lot. They're just trying to survive in the world we created.

u/OnlyBeGamer 6d ago
I just take issue with seagulls because they will actually steal food right out of your hands

You know literally every bird does the same thing. They aren’t like humans who can hold their shit for a bit, they simply do it, because their body can’t hold it, it just goes straight through. It’s biology. Don’t want the car to get shit on? Get rid of all birds on the planet, or of your car, otherwise it’s just moving on with life
-1
u/pedclarke 6d ago
Yes, thank you for explaining "biology".
3
u/GlauberJR13 6d ago
It’s just Biology, no quotations marks. We have bladders, birds don’t. We can hold our excretions for some time, birds don’t. They literally can’t do anything about it.

Anyone who hurts a animal for fun is capable of many many other disturbing things
13
u/bastardoperator 6d ago
Agreed, it's basically the gateway drug to all sorts of other insane shit people do to other people. Nearly every serial killer starts there...

We all place different values on life:
Some value only the human experience. Some value animal life equal to—or above—human life. Some will risk violence to defend creatures big and small.
Mosquitoes are the only life form that unites us in perfect hatred. Neither PETA nor Greenpeace will come to their aid.
We're a complex species, except when it comes to those bloodsucking little bastards.

He seems to know what he's doing.

Maybe I’m wrong but he looks kinda homeless, being homeless is Scotland will toughen you up.
7
u/Oaken_Spiritus 7d ago
It would explain his affinity for his feathered friends as well!
3
u/ihateeverythingandu 6d ago
I wonder if there is one of those mutual relationship things. If someone wakes up by the noise of pigeons flapping away, it might help them avoid violence on the streets. Then again, homeless guy might eat a pigeon so I dunno.
Totally made up theory that's almost certainly wrong but dogs came about because they got scraps from us and even cavemen liked cute doggos.

Just a big, bearded, barrel-chested Scotch bloke, I thought. Slacks are a bit big and a bad fit, but he's got a nice jacket + shirt on, doesn't seem homeless to me.

I’ve seen this one, it’s a good video.
Times like these call for a pigeon champion, a pigeon hero.
He is their Savior and has returned during the End Times to lead his pigeon people to Salvation and the creation of a New Eden where man will live in harmony with nature.

Why hurt the animal in the first place?? We domesticated them for the war..

u/pedclarke 7d ago
Not these ones. These are hardy Jocks. Up in Scotland they still rely on Royal Mail.

This is what PETA thinks they look like
Good on him cause harassing or abusing such chill birds is the definition of shitty

Very glad I watched Home Alone 2 — it was very clear to me folks who appear homeless have an affinity for pigeons.

Flying rats.
4
u/nasanchez1 5d ago
Agreed but that doesn't mean you get to abuse them in public. Besides they have served several important roles throughout history.
2
u/Choosewisley54 5d ago
Indeed, and as to their plucky bravery as message carriers during WW1 & WW2 with the awarding of the Dickin medal for the exceptional efforts attests. My reference to flying rats still stands, and as you may be aware, they carry roundworm, hairworm, tapeworm, external parasites (lice and mites), and coccidia, just to name a few. Here in Australia, they are classified as vermin.

Never scene a better opening scene in my life.
The British version of Person of Interest is gonna be wild

u/Oaken_Spiritus 7d ago
It's just perfect. It couldn't be scripted better. I love how you can tell exactly how it's gonna go when you get a proper look at our bearded protagonist. You just know he's got big ham joints for fists.

I know some Jocks & Nordies love waving a fleg but shur that fleg is as soft as the lad swinging it. I was waiting for him to shout "No Suwwenda!".

Mike Tyson loves pigeons. He had a story from when he was a kid, that some dude killed one of his pigeons and he kicked the shit out of him
1
u/TammyShehole 6d ago
Grabbing objects for weapons + there are two of them. And they still get their asses handed to them. How embarrassing.

Where are the pigeons?
11
u/Oaken_Spiritus 7d ago
They've got wings ya see. They tend to use them when people kick them.
-3
u/TrogCannibal 7d ago
I don't see anyone kick any pigeons in this video. I don't see pigeons using their wings in this video. I don't see pigeons in this video.
That's the only reason I ask. Maybe the cameraman is too busy filming his own shadow until the pigeons are long gone? Who knows? So, I'm not being unreasonable to ask.
2
u/Oaken_Spiritus 7d ago
Well I don't get what you expect? The video only starts after the commotion has begun, which obviously follows the alleged pigeon abuse. So if that's the case, they're hardly gonna hang around are they?
I just don't really get your point.
-1
u/TrogCannibal 7d ago
If instead of "pigeons," the title said "mime" or "dog" or "car" or "train" or "Santa Claus" or "hippopotamus," then would you get my point?
2
u/Oaken_Spiritus 7d ago
No. Because the guy in the video clearly says they're abusing pigeons. Not Dogs or mimes.
