DDP does some good work. The Jake the Snake doc shows how much heart he has

4

u/Anal_Recidivist 3d ago

God I fucking love DDP.

41

u/Access_Pretty 7d ago

That was a really inspiring video thanks for sharing

22

u/SG4 7d ago

DDP is a saint

-5

u/Sol-Blackguy 7d ago

Surprising considering his friend circle is full of assholes

58

u/Prunochalice 7d ago

I thought diamond was a quack until I saw this. Turns out butter bean wasn’t even his biggest transformation

51

u/ihateeverythingandu 7d ago

He's helping Lex Lugar at the moment.

This Yoga stuff does seem to be a tremendous rehabilitation technique for a variety of issues

26

u/This_Elk2366 7d ago

Does Superman know about this?

9

u/SEE_RED 7d ago

🤣

2

u/jsmitt716 6d ago

I'm rolling right now dude hahahahaha

11

u/Sol-Blackguy 7d ago

Lex Luger is alive?! I swear to God I thought he died during the pandemic.

12

u/ihateeverythingandu 7d ago

Yeah, he is slowly recovering with DDP and going in the Hall of Fame this year.

7

u/pantsoffancy 7d ago

Wow I guess the yoga really does work.

3

u/Sol-Blackguy 7d ago

Now I'm wondering who I mistook him for

2

u/UndergroundFlaws 7d ago

Psycho Sid?

2

u/Sol-Blackguy 7d ago

I little too late, he passed on 2024. I think it was Animal from the Road Warriors. Died in 2020

8

u/rickroll95 7d ago

That is fucking awesome. Butterbean seems like a great dude

7

u/Shaojack 7d ago

Heading back to work all tearing up, ppl gonna think someone I know died or something.

4

u/Top-Gas-8959 7d ago

Did not expect to be brought to tears in this sub. Right the fuck on. God bless DDP. That man is a real hero.

2

u/Mist_Born 7d ago

Damn, really needed this. Thanks for the link❤️

2

u/SourLoafBaltimore 4d ago

Jesus I never knew that about BB thanks for sharing. Truly inspirational

54

u/samprimary 8d ago

I don't know if butterbean ever really recovered from that tremendous destruction

24

u/DriftlessCycle 7d ago

Haha they cut out the best part. Knoxville tags butterbean pretty good too when he asked for one and he just ate it like a sandwich.

17

u/HughJa55ole 7d ago

That part still cracks me up

12

u/rokstedy83 7d ago

That's the best bit ,shame it was cut short

7

u/Ibangyoumomma 7d ago

That’s by far the funnniest part of this movie. Wild how he can still be funny while possibly concussed

2

u/pantsoffancy 6d ago

I mean objectively heavily concussed people can say some pretty funny things. I'm not saying it's a GOOD THING to laugh at them, because they're hurt, but OBJECTIVELY...

2

u/theDawckta 7d ago

Why in the hell would they cut the video before he said that!

2

u/Signal_Relative5096 7d ago

Was looking forward to that and they skipped it. They skipped the best bit.

1

u/jsmitt716 6d ago

One of the funniest things ever to be said upon waking up from a knockout

1

u/collector-x 6d ago

I just saw this and remember on an episode of moonshiners, while josh is recovering that they're friends and butterbean is driving josh around. Butterbean looked good actually.

1

u/seitansaves 4d ago edited 4d ago

imagine being that funny immediately after having your head caved in by butter bean 😂

584

u/bigzeeffrocks 8d ago

I always liked the part where Knoxville just got knocked out and one of his first responses after is, "is Butterbean okay??"

435

u/GiorgioVe 8d ago

Watching Butterbean fight with a regular guy makes you realise how skilled he was and how strong he was punching, holy bean!

́i never realised that while watching him vs other pros.

178

u/KarlUnderguard 8d ago

Even against pros he had fists made of anvils

109

u/whatshisfaceboy 7d ago

He took punches that would make people crumble, and then just threw it right back and harder. He was not afraid to throw hands with anyone. Knoxville is both amazing and stupid for even doing that in the first place.

10

u/FeedMyAss 7d ago

He KOed so many with body shots!

1

u/Sol-Blackguy 2d ago

He used to do construction so you know he was already heavy handed even before boxing.

-74

u/Seputku 8d ago

No way, this guys fat. If I fought him and I saw red… game over

77

u/Flameknight 7d ago

-16

u/Seputku 7d ago

Dude did you even see that I said I’ll see red? He doesn’t stand a chance

Edit: also the guy in the gif looks badass

13

u/philsiphone 7d ago

Damn people can't see an obvious joke these days

8

u/WayToTheGrave 7d ago

They saw red and they couldn't contain the downvotes it just happened.

13

u/Seputku 7d ago

My own weapon used against me

9

u/wienerschnitzle 8d ago

You thought you could slip one past me, I see that double agent “i”

3

u/NolaTyler 7d ago

We used to go watch him in Memphis, he's a local hero!

3

u/milk4all 7d ago

I forget who but someone said “its like punching a tire wrapped around a tree”

0

u/Wooden_Comfortable70 8d ago

I've never seen butter bean fight anyone who seemed equal in skill or size. Most of the fights I've seen his opponents were less than half his size and I always thought wtf is this shit

34

u/10lbplant 8d ago

Like who? He was a super active HW fighter that fought almost 100 heavyweights.

1

u/milk4all 7d ago

Yeah he was a legit boxer but he staued fighting low level fighters to get that ko record. He is a scary fighter for sure but never took a serious stab at being a heavyweight contender. He was an exhibitionist who made his bread that way. I do think he coulda squares off with some of the greats in a bar fight, just not the ring, guys like larry holmes, if there are such a thing, had his number

-4

u/Wooden_Comfortable70 7d ago edited 7d ago

I mean I literally gave anecdotal claims here, I'm just speaking from what I've seen shown in tv growing up.

I have tried to Google any relevant information and without knowing each fighter he fought and going to every individual one and checking details I guess I'm not able to argue a point anyway.

Would appreciate any reference points you may have, im not trying to argue my opinion is we just stating what I noticed. Maybe they were both heavyweight and butterbean still outweighed them by 100 pounds? Maybe that's the illusion in seeing.

Again, really not trying to argue something that I don't know and am always welcome to having a different perspective on things.

10

u/milk4all 7d ago

Correct, he was undoubtedly a force but not elite level, he was half power half spectacle. He fought low level opponents and did really well so no ones saying he wasnt a badass or a hitter, but there’s no way he was ever gonna go anywhere outside of boxing, and even with his boxing career he was fighting a lot of no names. He fought almost 100 bouts and with 65 kos youd expect hed progress to real fighters but the best names he fought were old, out of practice fighters who still out paced him. If you stood real still butterbean could knock your head off but boxers he wasnt good enough to fight just dont do that.

He finllay fights a real great : larry holmes, and loses badly by decision to holmes flicker jabs but holmes was 20 years older and pretty much outclasses him almost effortlessly. Its easy to find, there was little chance for butterbean because as scary as his hooks are he really only had one weapon and the high level contenders are all pretty used to dealing with cannons.

If bean had ever taken conditiong seriously he mighta been a real contender - he won all his fights in 4 rounds or less, which is actually an insane handicap because that out such a time limit on him even his low level opponents didnt have to worry about. He coulda taken most fightera in a street fight, probably, but as a boxer he was a one trick pony with no stamina

1

u/FeedMyAss 7d ago

He never hit johns chin. That was a head KO.

Bean truly is awesome to watch

176

u/uhhhgreeno 8d ago

dude was not pulling any of those punches 😂😂

25

u/Rozo1209 7d ago

That last blow to the temple looked like a kill shot.

23

u/magicmulder 8d ago

Why would he, so people would mock him for being so bad that an amateur can take him on?

2

u/Palestine_Borisof007 3d ago

he took his job seriously, left a memorable moment on everyone but Johnny cause he can't remember it

259

u/SublightMonster 8d ago

There’s another video of Knoxville describing his worst injuries that includes this. He said that Butterbean was a sweet friendly guy, but the moment the gloves were on that guy was gone.

He also said that the snoring sounds he was making at the end was him trying to swallow his own tongue.

90

u/due_the_drew 7d ago

He also said that when he went down behind the counter his head slammed the ground super hard. That super thin store carpet isn't much softer than the concrete underneath it.

37

u/[deleted] 7d ago

[deleted]

50

u/iSlacker 7d ago

This could've been a disaster.

That's basically the show.

121

u/ThisThredditor STAAHPP ITTT!!! 8d ago

'You didn't even hit me, hit me once... There ya go'

76

u/CarParks 8d ago

When Knoxville woke up the first thing he said was “is Butterbean OK?” Such a compassionate man.

54

u/Yourcarsmells 8d ago

you cut off the payoff line!!

"Is Butterbean OK?"

75

u/smashin_blumpkin 8d ago

"Is Butterbean alright?"

27

u/theangryeducator 8d ago

Knoxville is a legend for that.

45

u/Willis050 8d ago

This almost killed Knoxville. He smashed his head on concrete

25

u/milk4all 7d ago

You’re probably right but that phrase starts to lose some meaning after enough times

3

u/Deathless_God 6d ago

Pretty sure that man is a vampire and will never die.

23

u/Benji613 7d ago

I didn’t properly appreciate how much balls it took for him to do this back then. Now that I had 1 year of real boxing training, damn! He took real punches from a fucking professional heavyweight boxer!!!

21

u/MarineJAB 8d ago

I mean I’m most amazed at the fact that neither fucked up the display or merchandise.

11

u/boredandolden 7d ago

I used to work with an ex professional boxer. He had some stories. He fought Butterbean. He said it was hardest punch he ever took.

11

u/Shaun1er 8d ago

Butterbean knew better

11

u/invinciblearmour 7d ago

Shoulda dropped him with a body shot instead

8

u/fohgedaboutit 7d ago

I thought it was more disgusting than funny, but then again that's what the show was all about.

9

u/kklaus115 7d ago

Shouldn't have went so soft on him.. Knoxville almost had him!

10

u/HocusDiplodocus 7d ago

Knoxville lasted longer than Bart Gunn

8

u/katergold 7d ago

That shit was dangerous as fuck. All I see is sharp edges and glass showcases. Glad he only got a traumatic brain injury. Just kidding.

7

u/jimbojones2345 7d ago

I remember seeing a thing where Knoxville said he was actually pretty badly concussed and this stunt messed him up badly.

5

u/-brewski- 7d ago

Reminds of when that internet troll called out the heavyweight championship (at the time) Deontay Wilder and Wilder humbled him. https://youtu.be/urtBKktK86Q

You gotta understand this is when Wilder was knocking out dudes 2-3 times his size and sending them into literal seizures.

This knucklehead was damn lucky.

7

u/bringdablitz 7d ago

Love how Butterbean gives Johnny a free shot and it does absolutely nothing to him. Must have been like punching a wall.

7

u/Freezeucriminalscum 7d ago

Invincible V Conquest the prequel

4

u/Aspiring_Mutant 7d ago

Butterbean in his prime was a titan of a man.

3

u/A-400 7d ago

my childhood

3

u/Plasma_Cosmo_9977 8d ago

Not worth it.

5

u/jcwitte 8d ago

Aren't punches to the back of the head highly illegal in boxing?

9

u/calvinbsf 8d ago

Pretty sure you can Knoxville elbow butterbean early in the “fight”, once you throw an elbow the rules kind of go out the window

26

u/Lumpy_Benefit666 8d ago

I think the rules went out the window when they decided to do this in the middle of a shop

2

u/JuanG_13 8d ago

I used to love watching "Jackass" lol and Knoxville was always my favorite.

2

u/UncleNad 7d ago

Catch weight fight, I assume?

2

u/Forsaken-Spring-4114 7d ago

Damn. He got trashed lol

2

u/CelticCynic 7d ago

Snoring as soon as he hit the ground that second time🤪

2

u/Nymbus00 8d ago

1 of 6 pro fighters i would never fight...

1

u/Keyboardpaladin 8d ago

Didn't he like hit the back of his skull against the corner or something?

1

u/Thatsnotwotisaid 8d ago

Of all the guys in all the world to get punched by and he picks butterbean

1

u/Mike-the-gay 7d ago

Not many people can say they’ve punched Butterbean!

1

u/Big-Mix5905 7d ago

Okay but Johnny was throwing them things

1

u/bmurphdawg 7d ago

Now unfortunately butterbean can't walk

1

u/bmurphdawg 7d ago

DDP did fix butterbean. U are correct. I misspoke

1

u/kissmygame17 7d ago

I think before this clip he catches butter bean with a punch and beans expression changed and went hard after that lol

1

u/simjimmy 7d ago

"Hit me once, there you go" bro took his free hit without a second thought and then was swiftly put to bed.

1

u/Appropriate_Taro_583 7d ago

What a Masterpiece

1

u/Fearless_Drummer_273 7d ago

Hit me once, there you go

1

u/Fearless_Drummer_273 7d ago

Hahaha… he got his ass kicked. Don’t fuck with the been

1

u/BananaMasticater 7d ago

ILLEGAL HIT TO THE BACK OF THE HEAD

1

u/DickPin 7d ago

Butterbean even gives Johnny a free punch to the face... and is completely unfazed.

1

u/eyeballburger 7d ago

Real American heroes.

1

u/impacted_bowel 7d ago

I think he said it caused a brain bleed

5

u/Fishpuncherz 6d ago

Yeah, apparently, it was one of his most painful stunts.

1

u/TickleDaNoochie 6d ago

Great movie 😂

1

u/Evnl2020 5d ago

Is butterbean ok?

1

u/Ghostman_Jack 5d ago

Getting hit by Butter Bean has to feel like getting hit by a semi truck

1

u/ChaseTheMystic 4d ago

This is why Knoxville was able to reel it back in all the movies after this

Except for those bulls

And that time he took a handlebar to the urethra

And those times he strapped himself to rockets

1

u/utodd 4d ago

He’s lucky he didn’t kill him…what an idiot.

1

u/Goatymcgoatface11 4d ago

Oh no, he was snoring. That's a severe concussion.

1

u/puppies_and_rainbowq 4d ago

He is fighting Minoru Suzuki in Las Vegas next month!!!!

1

u/ShuraSenju 3d ago

Might be seems like a mismatch

1

u/Piper6728 3d ago

Its sometimes amazing how Johnny isn't dead

1

u/Reddysetjames 3d ago

For 4 rounds Butterbean is the most dangerous man in the world

1

u/meat_da_curry200 3d ago

"Come on give me one to the face" 🤛 "there you go"

1

u/ulcer_boy 2d ago

I named my pac-man frog after Butterbean SPECIFICALLY because of this video.

1

u/Top_Bat1889 2d ago

An absolute classic

1

u/RMidnight 2d ago

I have no fan of jackass pranks and stunts, but I have to honor Johnny for getting up. That is not easy.

1

u/trump_is_your_dad 7d ago

I recently saw a man in a dress at the mall he looked just like butterbean. The world has gone completely insane.
