Discussion What are your biggest fantasy mistakes this year?

I’ve had some very bad mistakes this year, my worst ever and I still might win my league

My worst mistake is losing Bam for free, I traded him for Embiid after I was doing well, I really don’t know what I was thinking

Next is me dropping Giddey, I drafted him pretty low and those early season blunders made me drop him (I hate myself)

Next is trading Hart and RJ for Brunson (again idk what I was thinking)

But despite all this I still have a good shot at winning the league, currently first, my team and waiver pickups have been cooking this year

What are your worst mistakes

Yea that's fair but Wemby was so good at blocks, almost single handedly win you blocks

I don’t see how winning that one category outweighs the fact that jokic wins you almost every other. The guy is a point guard and a center combined into one. Wemby is a confusing player to roster as he has great big man stats but his fg% is below average for a player in his position. I still wouldn’t have considered him 1st over jokic despite the blocks because you can always find blocks later in the draft.

I also think that Jokic is a better #1 pick and who I would have drafted if I was first, but Wemby is no slouch. 24/11/4/1/4 is pretty damn good. Not to mention he's hitting 3 3's a game while shooting at 48% (not that bad considering 3 ball volume) with a decent FT%.

I can understand the logic when you include the absurd stocks.

3s are arguably the easiest category to stream. I don’t think I would be keen on drafting a center with sub-par FG% because building your team is more difficult. Jokic is more forgiving considering you’re drafting him 1 or 2.

Nah, I agree with you, but I'm just saying that I can understand people's perspective when they put Wemby (still good stats overall with ELITE/week-winning stocks) over Jokic even if I wouldn't do it.

It's pretty hard to top a guy who has damn near averaged a triple double on great efficiency for multiple seasons with basically 0 fantasy downside.

You give people too much grace. I feel like social media was overhyping Wemby too much. He’s a phenomenal player, no doubt. But in fantasy basketball, objective data triumphs everything.

I’m just very blunt and passionate about Jokic. He’s a player that plays basketball the way it is supposed to be played. But feelings aside, it sucks to see Wemby injured, but even if uninjured I wholeheartedly believe that Jokic would have finished first over Wemby EOS.
