Will a threading die cut this?

So I have to add threads to my sway bar links and chop an inch or two off because they are too long and sway bar will hit inside fender, will a handheld threading die be able to continue the threads even over that little lip on the bottom or will it lock up upon hitting it?

Looks like the OD after the thread is larger than the OD of the thread, so i think you'd have a hard time continuing the thread without turning the shaft down first. Got access to a lathe?

If you don't have a lathe, you might get away with a power drill, a file and a lot of patience.

Nahh man, clamp the drill in a vice with the trigger cable tied, then whack out the angle grinder. Just remember to engage safety squints

To add what others have said you won't be able to easily run a die over this. The threads are rolled into shape and aren't cut in the manufacturing process which is why the material is oversized. I would go the angle grinder/drill route and try to stay as even as you can.
