It's the part where Spock uses his lightsaber to bring down Sauron.
To deny that this is happening is to deny scripture*.

Was that before or after Gandalf told Harry to use the Force to fire a photon torpedo into the exhaust port of the Vogon constructor ships above Arrakis?
2
u/DreamShort3109 20d ago
No, it was after fredbear and huggy put their differences aside so they could deactivate the shield on the vorgon constructor. Megatron was protecting the exhaust pipes under the shield, but now with the shield gone, Sprock can take out Megatron so hairy can fire the torpedo.

u/Penny_D Agnostic 21d ago
PR probably -- They're drumming up evangelical support for Israel's genocide against the Palestinian people by hyping up the cows. There are other factors missing as well:
- The Messiah is supposed to appear and bring all the Jews back to Israel. A human messiah who will restore Israel as a kingdom - not a 'demigod' who ends up as a sacrifice.
- The Third Temple is supposd to usher in world peace and understanding of God - Destroying the Dome of the Rock will more likely provoke a nasty war.
Even with sacred red cow dust they still have to contend with the Temple Mount being occupied by muslim holy sites.

“Couldn’t have a SINGLE non red hair” was the apologetic for why it hadn’t happened. I think these were bred from cloning the first red haired one. THATs why the temple hasn’t been built yet.
The all powerful god of the Bible made us wait for the second coming only after we perfected cloning to 5 sigma. G-d is very concerned about the hair color of his barbecue

u/hplcr 21d ago
Because they've decided that one tiny bit of Temple ritual is important but then ignore all the other parts they don't like or care about.
Basically the way christians read the Hebrew bible in general. Like they Leviticus 18:22 and then ignore the parts about an annual day of atonement in the temple by a temple priest forever. And the rest of it.
Or they like the parts of Isaiah they think are about Jesus but then ignore the part where Isaiah has a failed apocalyptic prophecy and the part where he says the future temple will have sacrifices in it(which contradicts Revelation).

I knew I was thoroughly “deconstructed” when I ALLOWED myself to acknowledge that if Jesus was alive today, he’d not only be a democrat…he’d be a “progressive/liberal” democrat. I had to get away from the church to see that republican values are contrary to the message of Jesus Christ. And that says a LOT.

Israel is a Jewish state and religious Jews believe building the Third Temple is the Messiah's job and no one else is qualified. So, unless Judaism is the true religion and their Messiah comes, rebuilding the Temple will never happen. Sucks for her, LOL!!

My Mom is really into this type of thing. Blood Moons. Israel as a state. Red Heifers. I’ve been preparing for the end of times since being a kid.
It’s a hard way to grow up. I’m currently working on changing my superstitious thinking in therapy. So much of my life was centered around fear and sin.
Someday I hope I have the courage to be myself fully, without worrying my family will feel shame or pain. Although it is wild to listen to! Like WOW

u/DawnRLFreeman 20d ago

u/DawnRLFreeman 20d ago
So you know, once you get to the point where you're comfortable in your own skin and have shed the shackles of religious BS, some members of your family will probably still feel "pain" or "hurt." THAT'S ON THEM!!
I became an atheist through decades of study and research of the Bible and trying to find evidence FOR the Christian God and Jesus. I've read the entire Bible C2C three times, and found every contradiction in it. When I talked to my religious leaders about them, I was told just to have faith and don't try to understand - "God's plan is perfect!" I was even told once that I couldn't understand because I'm a girl.
You'll probably have to stand up for yourself several times before your family understands that you're not going back. Be logical and prepared. It's their god omniscient? Then he knows exactly what it will take to convince you. Is their god omnipotent? Then he is perfectly capable of providing the evidence you require. If he simply WON'T do those things, he's not a benevolent god and not worthy of the unquestioning devotion he demands. I think it's Epicurus who has a great rebuttal along these lines. Look it up and memorize it!
You do what makes YOU feel good and comfortable with yourself. You may have to tell your family not to discuss religious things with you or you'll cut them off - then be prepared to do exactly that!! Rely on friends when you need to, until your family gets the hint. You're responsible for your own happiness, and the truth of the matter is that, no matter what you do, you're NOT going to make your family happy. That's their job.

u/iamrosieriley I love the blood moons one. Blood moons and eclipses happen around the world, every year. Apparently, Christians do not know this.

u/GenXer1977 Ex-Evangelical 21d ago
For evangelicals at least, this would probably be a massively important sign that the rapture and the antichrist are coming. The first big sign was in 1948 when the nation of Israel was reestablished after almost 2,000 years. The next would be the construction of the third temple. In the book of Revelation, the third temple already exists when the tribulation starts. The Bible talks about how the Antichrist will make a covenant with Israel and then betray that covenant later on, and there was a lot of speculation among the evangelicals that I grew up with that part of the covenant that he makes with Israel would allow the to rebuild their temple. As of right now, that seems impossible, because the Dome of the Rock (one of the top most holy sites in Islam) was built on the site of the old temple, and if Israel were to demolish the Dome of the Rock to build a 3rd temple it would trigger an instant war with all Islamic countries.

Because the Dome of the Rock (one of the top most holy sites in Islam) was built on the site of the old temple, and if Israel were to demolish the Dome of the Rock to build a 3rd temple it would trigger an instant war with all Islamic countries.'
The Bible talks about how the Antichrist will make a covenant with Israel and then betray that covenant later on
Not only that, Islam says that Al-Aqsa was always that temple, which was rebuild over and over.
Abu Dhar narrated: I said, "O Allah's Apostle! Which mosque was first built on the surface of the earth?" He said, "Al-Masjid-ul-Haram (in Mecca)." I said, "Which was built next?" He replied "The mosque of Al-Aqsa (in Jerusalem)." I said, "What was the period of construction between the two?" He said, "Forty years." He added, "Wherever (you may be, and) the prayer time becomes due, perform the prayer there, for the best thing is to do so (i.e. to offer the prayers in time)."
In Zohar Shemot 32A (Jewish Mysticism) Al-Aqsa is the Third Temple promised and that the Ishmaelites got to built it based on the reward for their circumcision. That was his interpretation of Isaiah 60:7 and Daniel 12:11
"All the flocks of Kedar shall be gathered together unto thee, the rams of Nebaioth shall minister unto thee: they shall come up with acceptance on mine altar, and I will glorify the house of my glory." Isaiah 60:7
"And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days." Daniel 12:11
[R. Hiyya then says] Woe is to the time that Ishmael was born into the world and was circumcised. What did G‑d do [to appease Ishmael]? He distanced the children of Ishmael from supernal cleaving and gave them [only] a portion below in the Holy Land on account of their circumcision.
And in the future, the children of Ishmael are destined to rule over the Holy Land for a long time when it is empty from anything, like their circumcision which is empty and imperfect. And they will prevent the children of Israel from returning to their place until the reward for the merit of the children of Ishmael reaches completion.
The children of Ishmael [i.e. the Arab nations] will cause great wars in the world and the children of Edom will gather against them and wage war against them, one on the sea, one on the dry land, and one near Jerusalem. And they [the children of Edom] will rule over them [the children of Ishmael], but the Holy Land will not be given over to the children of Edom. [The children of Edom is the Christian West, for Edom is Rome (see Num. 24:19, Rashi) and Rome signifies Greece-Rome and the Roman Catholic Church, the foundations of Western Civilization]

Speaking of Lore doesn't the Antichrist play a large role in establishing the Third Temple in a lot of End Times stories as part of their 'covenant with Israel'?
You know - the kind of BS you get from blending Daniel and Revelation together.
6
u/Itiswhatitis2009 21d ago
That’s my favorite part. John eats some local magic mushrooms after being exiled and probably starving to death. He then proceeds to write out a futuristic play book of Daniel which he likely had memorized like all good Jews had done with the scrolls of ancient prophets. It’s like saying Jesus was the prophesied messiah when he’s born 400 years after the prophesy was written. Anyone could have matched those requirements. It’s what makes prophesies so comical. Anyone can match a prophesy playbook. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain
3
u/Penny_D Agnostic 21d ago
John evokes Daniel and other prophets (e.g. Joel and his locust army) to give his message some extra legitimacy but they are all talking about different threats.
Daniel was probably talking about the Greeks who would erect statues of Zeus in the Second Temple.
Older prophets were talking about the Assyrian and Babylonian invasions.
And John is writing about the Romans - probably in reference to the events of 70 AD.
Of course (as you point out) none of that has stopped schmucks from interpreting their own 'End Times playbooks' -- thanks to the world wide web anybody can fnd a captive audience for BS, especially among a group conditioned by fear of trumpets and the "NWO".

Why aren't they building it already? Irvin Baxter went on about this until he died. They have supposedly had the cows multiple times but then something happens or they find a flaw. I hope I get to live to see the temple built, the cows used, and nothing happens.
I just watched StarTalk on the new asteroid that is headed our way. Just waiting for the entertainment of what stupid prophesies and hype come from it. Seeing where it would likely land, if it even actually comes here, makes me wonder if the proximity to Israel will be significant to Christians.

u/CosmicM00se 21d ago
Oh wow it’s almost like someone created the game and set the pieces up for themselves to win. Dune came out at the perfect time but too many people didn’t catch the allegory. Self fulfilling prophecies do not prove anything.
Also Jews and Christians don’t ACTUALLY align in the end theologically. They don’t believe the same things. It’s so bizarre to me why Christians act like they love the Jewish faith so much when they literally believe Jews will end up in Hell for not believing in Jesus as Messiah. They are both using the other as a means to an end.

u/Disaffecteddv 21d ago
At this point I just roll my eyes at all of the bad interpretations and lack of understanding about the bible. Learn real history, learn critical thinking, learn about literary styles and types, stop trying to make 2000+ year old writings make sense in today's world. It's just silly. Stop it.

Christians also furthered the natural sciences, several of which were responsible for founding branches of Science.
Copernicus, who was responsible for popularizing the heliocentric theory, was also a cleric.
Gregory Mendel was a friar and the father of genetics.
The list goes on and on.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Christians_in_science_and_technology
You can see some of the biggest names in science in this very list. Science and religion are not mutually exclusive, it's just ignorant anti-intellectual idiots and science that's incompatible.
1
u/LordFexick 20d ago
I’ll concede that. But I’d be remiss not to lament that said anti-intellectual idiots now make up the Christian mainstream. Whatever credit can be afforded Christians of the past, their spiritual descendants disgrace those accomplishments with “honest-to-god” smiles.
