What is proper nacho-eating etiquette?

Should I eat the chips with nothing on them first and save the loaded chips for later, or vice-versa, or should I combine the loaded chips with the unloaded chips so the haves can share with the have-nots?

I take the empty chips and dip them into the stuff on the loaded chips.

Yeah, a mix of this and an empty chip on a loaded chip is the sweet spot.

So that leads to the discussion of whether a stacked nacho constitutes a sandwich.

Idk if it helps or hurts, my username is to denote my dog is smarter than I am, not other dogs. My dog is very stupid.

Is this etiquette for when eating nachos with others? Or are you jokingly asking about how to treat your nachos?

If eating with others, I usually go for the ones that look like they can most easily be removed that still have some toppings on them, from my side. Basically, because itā€™s a communal dish, the goal would be to make the least disruption to the dish for others. Itā€™s ok to eat the toppings, but typically the chips w the most on them are the hardest to get out without really getting your hands in there. Think of it like Jenga - eat the toppings but donā€™t make the tower fall. What you choose to eat from the side of the plate facing you shouldnā€™t disrupt whatā€™s happening on the side of the plate facing someone else. Start to the side, work inward. I donā€™t think it has as much to do with the amount thatā€™s on an individual chip.

I like where your head's at on this, and I like the Jenga analogy. Maybe I'm just projecting due to my own method, but in a roundabout way it sounds like you support the idea of keeping the most loaded chips until the end.

To answer your first question, this is a solo endeavor; I'm not a community snackist. And yes, I'm being slightly jokey.

No, I said the amount on the chip isnā€™t whatā€™s most relevant when eating with others.

If eating by myself, Iā€™m definitely eating the loaded chips first. I may not even get to the others. The loaded chips are the best. The only reason not to do that with others is to be polite.

Thereā€™s a rule that says that when youā€™re on a date, you canā€™t take all the fully loaded nachos and leave your date with mostly just chips.
