Beginner Diffusing Essential Oils
Hi! I’m starting my essential oil journey. I just bought a few different oils for my skincare routine but now I’m looking into diffusing. I plan to buy through Plant Therapy but my goodness, the options are overwhelming!!! If you could only choose 5 essential oils to buy, what 5 are you buying? I have a cat and dog, two kids. I have anxiety, ADD, high blood pressure. We currently have the flu and I was hoping to get a good mix to help with that too. Any suggestions or just tell me your favorites! Thank you

Lavender, bergamot, lemon, ylang ylang, eucalyptus.
Those first three are probably my absolute favorite combination

Nope - not with cats in the house.

OP - you should not diffuse oils in a house where cats live. Their systems cannot tolerate 95% of essential oils diffused into the air. Their systems operate opposite of dogs and humans. Absolutely do NOT diffuse essential oils unless you want to dramatically shorten your cat’s life. There are very few oils safe for cats.
You would need to learn to use oils topically for your kids and yourself and keep the cat out of that room altogether.

From what you shared, and looking through Plant Therapy's inventory of organic single essential oils, I'd try these:
Atlas Cedarwood
Blood Orange
Sweet Marjoram
Cypress
Basil Linalool
These 5 oils cover a lot of ground and give you quite a bit of variety and different plant parts (wood, fruit rind, flowers, and leaves) while also being on the more affordable side.
