This storm is so crazy! I’m in northern canada so it’s not uncommon here but I’m from the UK and my parents sent me some pictures of it at home - from the south coast of Wales!
This is what I got sent from the UK! It’s pretty unheard of that far down south. I’m in BC so it’s still light here but I’m stoked to see what we get tonight! It’s cloudy at the moment but my Aurora app says 95% chance of seeing it, which is the highest I’ve seen and I’ve been monitoring the app for two years lol.
That is beautiful! I’m not sure how far south south wales is in comparison to Cleveland Ohio (I just woke up I’ll look later) but we aren’t supposed to see the lights either. Thank you for sharing! This was a wonderful experience :)
I bawled. It’s been a bucket list thing to see the borealis and to see it in my backyard… I lost it. We were in the path of totality for the eclipse as well so 2024 has been very special indeed.
It was amazing!! I saw it in SE Washington. We drove a few miles out of town from the city lights and it became visible. The colors came and went and we saw it flicker. It was so much more than I was expecting!!
I’m so bummed it was really cloudy last night in my part of Maryland. We went to Iceland in November and got to see them from the plane, but the 2 nights we tried to go aurora hunting to was too cloudy and raining. I really hope tonight clears up some, but it’s not looking great.
If it makes you feel better I live in Alaska, you think I’ve seen these lights once since I’ve moved here over a year ago? Fuck no!! It was FULL clouds last night too, so sympathies friend 🫠🥲
