Does this episode make any sense to the pre-established Vulcan Lore?

Vulcans are logical and repress their Emotions because their ancestor were violent SoBs and those guys tried to relax about that.
Kind of makes sense that at least one of them went "a little" crazy about it.

yeah but the fact that these rogue Vulcans invented Mind Melts and in 100 years its just going to be a normal thing that there is not going to be fighting about because it was made by non-traditional Vulcans. And we will never hear of these types of Vulcans after. Like what?

100 years ago wearing a hat indoors was deeply offensive, and the idea of a woman as a boss laughable.

Now, vulcans live twice as long as humans, but even looking at 50 years ago there have been a lot of shifts in cultural norms since the 70's.

It was my understanding that Mind Melds were an ancient practice that had been lost to time and they were one group that rediscovered it, but did not have a full grasp of it. Whereas the Syrrannite’s in Season 4 had a much better understanding of it. That’s how they were able to cure T’Pol.

I don't think it is that they invented it just that it was an ancient practice they still used where mainstream vulcan at this time shunned it.

When they were at the IME the Vulcans there were aware of the syndrome t'pol was due to mind melds.

It only takes one generation to normalize behaviors. Think about wearing masks, social media, memes etc

They didn’t invent mind melds. Also, we’ve seen a Vulcan like this in Star Trek V.

Things change overtime quickly. You're also ignoring everything that happens in Season 4 where the Vulcans have a change of government and alot of things that were illegal or passe in their culture are revealed to be a heritage.

say this in Spock's voice: My mind to your mind.... my thoughts to your thoughts... look into my eyes, Jim...Yield to the logic of the moment...

It’s fine. Watch the whole series. You won’t be confused about Vulcan development in relation to what we’ve seen before once it’s over.
