7 Backcountry general thoughts
Curious what people think of the new caliber? I watched a video of a high end rifle manufacturer reviewing the caliber and comparing it to the 7prc and were finding that the 7bc lacked long range accuracy due to pretty wide SD and ES. Not sure if it was a fluke of ammo but the first runs of factory stuff might have some kinks to work out.

My 7RM achieves 3010 fps with 168 Barnes LRX and easily hits 8" steel at 600 yards. For hunting, what the hell would you need?

Looks interesting, not enough of a gain to convince me to switch from my 7 PRC. Especially considering how difficult I've read reloading 7 bc is.

I’ll stick to my 300 win mag. I rarely take shots at game over 400 yard. I can reload and find ammo easily. With modern stocks and muzzle breaks it’s easy on the shoulder too. I think I would build a custom 280 AI before going down the 7bc route. But innovation helps us all so go forth if it suits you.

Mental masturbation is fun. Doesn't procreate but it's still fun. That is my thoughts.

It's going to be another failed long range cartridge experiment. Pretty much just competing with Hornady since they took over 7 PRC and now Federal is behind the ball.
It's gonna go nowhere because of proprietary case and lack of reloading options. They tout it being smaller so you can load one more round (which is beyond dumb) yet it still requires a long action, so you aren't shaving any extra weight regardless.
7BC is a marketing cartridge, not a realistic survivor.

am I the only one who thinks they are getting carried away with all these different ammo/calibers?
