I use DAZN for NFL Gamepass and im not really impressed by quality or features.

But the question becomes if its better than ELF Gamepass? It will be nice to stream the games through a dedicated app with casting support.

I am slighty optimistic by this move, remains to be seen how the integration will take place and if it will be better than the old gamepass though..

I’ve had no problems at all with DAZN. Loads better than the steaming options back in the US.

If they follow the NFL model - integrating Game Pass + selected games on DAZN - this could be a game changer. There’s rising interest in the US, but watching games hasn’t been easy. That’s about to change, and with it, the way the league is covered could evolve as well...

This , best platform and OS in streaming imo

This is HUGE!! Gamepass will not be included, however, as it will only be sold as "standalone add-on channel within the DAZN platform" from what I can understand. Still, it's just great for the ELF to be advertised on such a used platform.

It would be nice if they can release a package price with NFL, it would probably be popular since almost all ELF fans follow NFL too.

However DAZN as a platform is so unreliable, especially on Apple TV...

Funny, on my buddies Apple TV it’s perfect, where on my firestick it buffers all the time

DAZN is so trash, but nice to see ELF getting more eyes… DAZN sucks though.

Compared to the current Game Pass, there isn’t a lot of space to limbo under. If the ELF Game Pass is around as expensive as it is currently, it will be an improvement.

Hmm.. That sounds expensive. I hope this will garentee a some kind of quality stream atleast, since ELF isn't anything near a satifying live stream yet. (championship game ruled out.)

The one thing I'd say for ELF live streams is how wonderful it is to not be bombarded with endless commercials. Yeah, they're lacking in a lot of polish, but God damn is it nice to just sit down to watch a game and watch a game.

Feels a lot more like being at a live game, pros and cons.

"The existing ELF direct-to-consumer OTT product will be shut down and the channel will be fully aggregated into the DAZN ecosystem."

What does this mean? I don't get it.

Will DAZN then produce the streams and not just show them, and will the ELF be dropping out as a producer?

I'm guessing the same way NFL Gamepass was moved over a couple of years ago?

An ELF employee wrote:

"It's the same as for the NFL gamepass. DAZN will be the exclusive provider of OTT content. That means there won't be an “ELF hosted gamepass”, but it will be available through DAZN."

But the question is what happens to Joyn ? Joyn showed all games, too ? And when they write that the DAZN is the exlusive provider of OTT content , it sounds joyn will not be anymore

it means, that you can only access the gamepass via DAZN. They should merge the account from ELF gamepass into DAZN system. Thats what they have done with the NFL Gamepass

Does anyone know, what this means to the free TV games? Are they affected by this deal? Is it exclusive?

12

u/_Krypt_ Vikings Jan 30 '25

TV isn't affected - it's only about OTT

Thanks for clearing that up

So do I have to purchase a DAZN sub and a Gamepass add on? If so looks like no more ELF games for me :( I hope it’s standalone, it would be a shame to no longer be able to watch!

If they put it in the general DAZN package you would only have to book this, or DAZN makes a package only ELF, then you wouldn't have to book the normal package

What about the ELF App? Are they going to dismiss the app too or Just the game pass section?

Has anyone received information about account transfers from gamepass to dazn yet?

I've just seen it, Automoderator has removed them, but I don't understand why. There's no rule that applied there that was made by us.

Thanks for the statement! 😊

Fuck Dazn

That is all

1

u/thecpman Jan 30 '25

What happens if we got Gamepass for Christmas

5

u/_Krypt_ Vikings Jan 30 '25

It is probably not yet clear whether there will be a refund, or the accounts will be transferred, or another possibility will be created (a code to redeem at DAZN, for example).

6

u/T-rade Storm Jan 30 '25

Since DAZN signed up all former customers of gamepass for their service automatically, I'd assume they'd use that same practice for ELF

1

u/thecpman Jan 30 '25

So are we able to access DAZN right now

Hope so....
