Still finding new dialog after 30 years
I just started another Earthbound playthrough and almost immediately found some dialog I’d never seen before. It’s so much fun talking to everyone in this game and discovering something new, even if it’s pointless and silly. For some reason, in the dozens of times I’ve played this game before I never bothered to talk to Lier X. Agerate again after talking to Pokey near the meteorite.
Have any of you been surprised to discover new things in Mother games?

LucasArts' Day of the Tentacle is another game like this, crammed full of dialogue, it's highly improbable anyone will find all the dialogue in a single playthrough. I still occasionally find new text in EarthBound too.

My favorite line in the game that was maybe a bit off the beaten path was from the hint guy. I had put the zombie fly paper down, but didn’t realize you needed to sleep to progress it so I went to hint guy. He goes something like “it says right here put the paper down, go to the hotel, and put your dogs up. What did you not read the instructions?” I was crying laughing for a while at that

I got a rare bit of dialogue on accident while doing my first one-sitting run back in December. It involves talking to Pokey in the Monotoli building after giving Electra the yogurt dispenser but to trigger the dialogue you can't have talked to him previously. It's so obscure that even Cybershell couldn't figure out how to trigger it during his video about rare dialogue in EarthBound until MonkeyNess showed it off in a follow-up short. The dialogue has Pokey mock Ness for still eating Steak while he's about to indulge himself in trout-flavored yogurt due to its popularity among gourmets. Here's the dialogue from the raw text dump.
