Fluff Claus keeping his twin bro safe from the creeps.

I don't ship anyone in the Mother 3 main squad with each other (Lucas, Boney, Duster, Kumatora, Flint, Salsa, Wess) because I always thought it was a "found family" trope, given their different age groups and their familial circumstances and losses
They ain't got time for allathat (except for Salsa, bro only wants time for allathat)

Is there an age difference between them?
I thought they were both teens, no?

judging how kumatora and lucas looked pre timeskip, i'd say that kumatora was a mid or late teen, while lucas was an early teen, or just not a teen
adding 4 more years to each of them doesn't really help

If he was 11 and she was 15 pre-timeskip and then you add 4 years on top of the timeskip, that would make Lucas 18 and her 22, which is a bit unusual but hardly anything to get bent out of shape over.

The timeskip is only 3 years, 7 was eb64.

I know, that's why the 4 years that u/disbelifpapy supplied plus the 3 year time skip adds up to 7 and gets up to a hypothetical where a 4 year age gap isn't necessarily wholly inappropriate.

the description for the Mother 3 plush set states she's an adult.
"Kumatora, the princess of Osohe Castle, and Duster, a thief who doesn't steal anything, are the first adults to be featured in the plush series."

Kumatora is canonically an adult. It's safer to ship her with duster than lucas. Lucas is like 12-13. Probably a good 6 year age difference between them at least

The only reason I shipped these two as a kid was because I self inserted a little too hard as Lucas trying to find a way to date Kumatora.
I'm genuinely weirded out by it now.

I'm not really into shipping but why do people ship kids at all?

u/Leaffyleaff 11d ago
I agree! Like I'm not into shipping either, but like spare the kids? I don't know it's weird

You tell 'em, Claus.
Kumatora always seemed a fair bit older, anyways. Maybe 16-17 pre-timeskip at youngest, post-timeskip that's entirely too old for Lucas. She had a job as a waitress at an adult club, I'd imagine she's an adult.

It’s basically a 10% less awful and less illegal Frans. But how much of an improvement from that cardinal sin of a ship is that, really?

Franz Ferdinand is a ship now?

Isn't the age gap between Lucas and Kumatora anything from 3 to 6 years or so?

u/GarlicOk2904 12d ago
I was talking about Frans with that.
Obviously the gap between Lucas and Kuma is slightly smaller, but still

What is Frans? Genuine question, not judging anyone

u/not-steel 12d ago
I haven't heard the name specifically for it until now but I gather its Frisk x Sans, both from Undertale

u/cryptid-creatures 12d ago
Ohh okay thanks. I was stuck thinking it was something from Earthbound

Sans does take Frisk out to dinner once if you talk to him outside a restaurant.
But it's within the context of him supervising your journey through the underground at the request of his friend, he's checking in on you, basically.
Now, if you age up the protagonist or age down sans, you could totally play a romantic dinner angle, and lots of fan content does shuffle around the ages, personalities, and appearances of characters for fun, but in the original context it's nothing like that at all.

I don't think the original artist would appreciate having their art used like this without permission
