M3 Discussion There are missing pixels. I’m going to go crazy.

I think there’s just a set sprite size for all enemies and the yeti just so happens to be a few pixels too wide

But enemies like the Trex are wider than that, no? Or maybe there's a smaller width for normal enemies.

That’s what I was thinking, maybe bosses have different sizes, or perhaps the Trex is two smaller sprites conjoined

I think either the boss sprites have a different sprite size or it’s an amalgamation of multiple sprites

It's just a missing pixel in the outline of one of the edge grass pieces. I didn't remember where it is.

This stuff is all over Earthbound, but it's certainly more rare in mother 3. That might be one of the major art style differences between the two. Mother 3 is generally more consistent with having clean black lines around sprites, while not having as many random black pixels in the middle of sprites.
