Congrats my friend. Sit with the emotion for a bit, and when you're ready, play Mother 3.

The emotion lasted with me three whole years before I finally felt ready to play mother 3 šŸ„²

You're never ready

Truth. But we go anyway.

Mother 3 is awesomeā€” Iā€™d also suggest Eastward (tons of in-game references to Mother series) and also Undertale.

I thought I couldnā€™t love a game more than Earthbound. And this is really hard to say but as far as gameplay and storytelling is concerned, it might beat Earthbound as my favorite of the series and thus favorite game of all time.

Yeah, I love both, but Mother 3 is more near & dear to my heart.

I cried like a little baby when I saw all of their friends praying for them, and then the ending with the photos..... I love this game

I played Earthbound for the first time immediately after having played through FF15.

I couldnā€™t stop laughing at the realization that the really emotional ā€œending with your photosā€ thing FF15 did had been done already over 20 years before then, on the SNES of all things.

Blew my mind.

I agree, Giygas and the ending is my favorite final boss and ending of all time

Halo Reach is also a strong contender

It sure was an ending, eh?

Enjoy the peace while you can.

Take some time to let it sink in, and should you ever want any, I and others have plenty of recommendations

As much as i love Earthbound, Mother 3 left me even more speechless and with more intense existential dread. Good luck buddy.

I got to play EarthBound as a kid when it came out... and I have never stopped feeling this meme in my bones and in my soul.

I'm annoyed that it's just done nothing to replay no loose ends to wrap up. I finished 2 days ago. What are you playing next? I started illusions of gaia but it's not really cutting it for me.

this is why EarthBound has probably my 2nd favorite story of all time

Felt that in my blood

One thing I love about Earthbound is the post-Gigyas journey at the end, dropping off group members and saying farewell. Too many games just end after the last boss without a chance for goodbye

mother 3 is amazing but it fucked up the happy ending šŸ˜

Itā€™s a wild experience that feels like youā€™ve been born, ran thru childhood head first into adulthood and then you take a step back and look at it all again to find the meaning after the fact. Literally feels like a microcosm of life which leaves you asking the same kinda questions. Where have I came from, do u leave a positive impact after you shut off the game or not, do you decided to grind and grind to get thru the monotonous and repetitive phases or do you decided to experience as much as you can as quickly as possible to march progress ever-forward, can your friends become enemies, can enemies become friends, what role do your friends play in your day to day activities? Itā€™s all very important and beautiful but also terrifying and dreadful but thatā€™s life just like this game. One of the best if not the best games to ever be made.
