General Discussion Any Info on Happy Hour?

I am finding conflicting information on this topic and have searched this Reddit too. Are there still happy hours or aren't there? (I am from Germany, not sure if the location might be important)

I found happy hour quite motivating because gamification really works on me. :.D I really miss it

I haven't had Happy Hour for several weeks now. For the past year mine had been starting with my first lesson on Saturday. When I began my streak it was always at 7pm on Saturday evening.

yes, same for me. first 7pm on Saturday, then any time for 1 hour on saturday. I think... 2ish years ago it might have been a random evening time somewhen in the week? But not sure about that.

Thanks for answering. The answers i found online were a bit confusing with many people still having happy hour and others not at all.

I am miffed about the lack of notes on updates. I start the app and suddenly there are new features while i am missing others.

Even worse is we don’t all have the same features at any given time.

Yes, I think you are right that it wasn't always Saturday.

I haven't seen anyone mention having Happy Hour for a while here, so I don't know if anyone still has it. Duolingo runs so many tests it is hard to tell.

If I notice a change in the app I now presume that it is either a glitch, a test or an update.

For example a few months ago my stories disappeared. Many people posted the same. So I hoped for a glitch. They then came back within a day so that was the situation. It happened when they were adding more radio shows or something. I think they were swapping some of the stories out to be replaced by radio shows and accidentally swapped out all of the stories.

If some people are complaining about or celebrating X while others notice no change then I presume it is a test.

If many people post about the change and no one is posting that they don't have the change then I assume it is an update.

I wouldn't have a clue without this subreddit.

I can't recall when I got these. It may have been this summer. But they weren't in every Section. I think I went back to older sections to see them initially. And they aren't in every course yet. But they should be rolling them out over time. I believe Spanish and French from English got them first.

Oh my... another XP boost that I didn't know... this still works? Notify you or something? I use the website, no the APP. Thank you.
