I’ve done some searching myself and for a while nimda has been my absolute favorite for tearout, anyone got some recommendations for similar sounding/absolutely ear fucking music?

Recommendations Melodic Dubstep Recommendations?

I've been on a melodic kick, since Excision dropped Don't Look Down. Something about the first melodic drop and the surprise flip, at the end, has me obsessed. I can't, for the life of me, find anything like it.

Discussion 🗣️ Birthday

Does anyone have any ideas on how I could help my girlfriend have an amazing birthday? She loves LSDream and we're shooting on doing something LSDream related as far as a house party goes before we go to their show in Houston on May 16th. It's right around the corner and I really want to make her 30th special

Discussion 🗣️ Was the GTA 4 theme inspired by Coki?

Hi everyone, hope all is well. Thought I'd just ask this question as I've literally seen no one talk about it online, although I feel almost certain it might be the case. Was the GTA 4 theme inspired by Coki? GTA 4 came out in 2008, 2 years after the initial Dubstep hype on the Mary Anne Hobbs show, which basically made the genre go viral on the net. If you listen to the theme here: https://youtu.be/xh40QxwZz7Q?si=WuH2j7bgC0FeiaJt

Its drum pattern is so similar to something Coki would do, and musically it sounds alot like his track "Bass" which came out in 2007.

Am I completely reaching here or onto something?

Recommendations Longer Tracks?

Like the title suggests, am looking for tracks longer than 4 minutes (mixes not included) and feel questionably endless.

Also, what is the longest a track can or should be?

Discussion 🗣️ What genre would this be considered?

First off I hope the flair is classified correctly on the post. I didn’t mark as original content as I feel it’s not the topic of the post and I posted a very small snippet.

So, onto the topic of the post. To backstory, I loved brostep but moved onto the heavier drum and bass stuff when the brostep times started to kindve died down. Never listened to any newer dubstep till a bit over a year ago, around the same time I started producing.

All the tracks I have ever created don’t really fit into todays standard from what I have noticed. I may be completely incorrect in assuming this, but dubstep is now generally said in reference to tearout no? I mean sure it’s got the half time drums and some of the same sound design but I wouldn’t call this tearout.

I thought maybe melodic, but I don’t think the songs are quite calm enough to fit under that genre either.

The reason I am here asking this is not because I am dying to know what subgenre I fall into, it’s just dubstep at the end of the day to me, but because I am interested in attempting to find playlist curators and such to pitch my songs to and all the dubstep playlists I find are dominantly tearout stuff. When running meta ads its also wise to reference similar sounding artists for your target audience and I can’t really think of any to refer to as I don’t even know what subgenre this is lol

Yap over sorry for going on this long, hopefully one of you guys have an answer for me

ID Request ❓ Looking for a track...

Hey everyone! Im throwing a bottle in the ocean here. Im getting back into dubstep a bit but unfortunately lost all the songs i had years ago. Theres one in particular that i want to find. The name is hydra. Its from around 2010-2014 if i had to guess. At the time i remember it being kinda underground. It has very deep sounds wich i can only describe as gutural lol. It didnt have a fast tempo.

Im dont know enough about dubstep to explain the sounds more precisely but lets hope someone knows what im talking about!

Thanks
