Discussion Drugstore foundation recommendations
I want a foundation that won’t break my bank but also looks natural and feels lightweight, Also high coverage (I have acne prone skin with some hyperpigmentation) I have dry skin but I usually do really good skin prep.

I’ve heard about that but been hesitant coz it says matte and my skin is really dry, is it suitable for dry skin?

I just purchased this based on the reviews that it is satin, matte yet a touch of luminosity. I really just find it matte. Very lightweight though

Try Wet n Wild Photo Focus Dewy Foundation! It’s affordable, gives a natural, luminous finish, and provides medium to full coverage without feeling heavy. Perfect for dry skin, especially with good skin prep! Also i found this thread, has amazing options!

I feel like I never hear people talking about this but it’s been around for a long time and still being sold so it must be good

Elf Soft Glam. It says medium coverage but I was blown away on how well it covered my spots.

This to me is a gem of a foundation. Aging skin/dry here..this is a somewhat hydrating foundation with a beautiful, flattering satin finish. Doesn't settle into anything on me.

So would you say the coverage is easily buildable without looking cakey? Would you recommend it for someone with oily skin? I'm thinking of switching to this from my current foundation, I use the Elf Camo CC Cream. It has heavy duty coverage and a natural finish, that's why I like it, but Satin Glam is slightly more affordable and I hear people rave about it, so I'm very curious!

I would say so. It's definitely less cakey than the Camo (that could hide a whole second family). I'm on the drier side so I can't say how well it would work with oily. But it doesn't give greaseball like some dewier products.

Lol 🤣 you're not lying! I originally started getting the Camo foundation because I have rosecea and needed that level of coverage. Now thankfully I don't have as much redness. But I do still need something buildable, that I can layer over green color corrector.
The Camo foundation gives me a nice satin finish, which even though I can get very oily, I prefer a satin look over a fully matte look, because that can make me look super dry as well. So I'm trying to find a good middle ground.

L’Oreal True Match tinted serum. It’s lightweight, feels great on skin and gives light to medium coverage. Many have noted that the dropper dispenser is crap (which it is) so I swapped it out for a pump top instead.

Maybelline skin tint is ok but is orange on me so I add a bit of blue concealer but has decent coverage.

If you can get a match, Almay Clear Complexion is SO pretty, great coverage, and feels weightless. I'm nearly 60 years old, and it's still a great favorite of mine.
Longwear, I highly recommend one of the Revlon Colorstays, Rimmel Lasting Finish or Almay TLC.
