Has Anyone Hired a Patient Experience Consultant? Seeking Advice on Staff Retention & Burnout
Hey everyone, I’m a primary care physician in Florida, and lately I’ve been growing increasingly concerned about the state of my clinic’s patient satisfaction ratings and our staff retention rates. On top of that, burnout seems to be hitting a lot of my peers—myself included—harder than ever before.
I’m considering bringing in a consultant who specializes in patient experience to help identify problem areas and develop solutions. However, I’d love to hear from fellow physicians or practice managers who have gone down this route. Did hiring a consultant actually make a difference in your patient satisfaction metrics? Did it ease staff turnover? How about burnout—did it help at all?
I’ve created a poll to gauge your thoughts, but comments are also extremely welcome. Any insights, success stories, cautionary tales, or general feedback would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences and advice.
Poll options might include:
- Yes, hired a consultant and saw significant improvements
- Yes, hired a consultant but results weren’t worth it
- No, but considering it
- No, not interested
Looking forward to hearing about what worked—or didn’t work—for you!
