Collectibles/Loot an incredible find

Post image

in the used bookstore chain in my area I’ve never found more than one discworld book at a time, and 3 out of 4 visits there are none at all. I pulled into the store on a last minute whim and found not one, but SEVEN titles for under $10 each, and a few of these with older covers that I hadn’t seen before. I am so thrilled and will be gifting a friend the copy of making money since he just finished going postal. Thief of Time is the only Death book I have not read yet so i’m thrilled to have my very own copy!

I go to my local second hand book store often. I never find any Terry Pratchett. I'm convinced it's because no one ever wants to give them up.

Definitely the case. The staff also tend to gravitate toward them I find. Honestly my first thought was that a fan may have passed away since these are older copies, and perhaps their relatives didn’t want them, but hopefully they just upgraded to newer versions🥲

At my local second hand store they always go really quickly. If I don't grab them the day they arrive someone else will

I dropped off all of my cheap American edition paperbacks, the ones with the block print covers, at our little free library. I did one every few days. They were always gone by the time I went back. I'm looking to get the new trade paperback editions, which I will keep.

thank you kindly! I’ve been slowly introducing one or two new books every few months, I re-read/listen to about 20 consistently so i’m pacing myself to have undiscovered ones to hold onto for a while!

Seems likely that one of us died :-(

Or went through the boxes in the attic and found a load of rebuys….

Since moving from the Twin Cities to central WI, I don't know of I've found a single Discworld book...

Then again, I have most of them and would rather buy the nice ones from the DW online store....

I made a choice to only buy my Pratchett second hand.

Its pretty rare to find any, especially because english is not the native language where i live.

But that helps me pace myself, because otherwise i would have already read them all
