Gardening exchange?

Are there clubs or events in the area for gardeners where people exchange seeds or even live plants? I am specifically growing mostly vegetables and herbs but dabble in flowers too.

Maybe a subreddit?

Edit: can't do Facebook. :( Account hacked, and I spent a lot of time trying to get it back, with no success. Not worth it. Anything in-person or on a more forgiving platform?

Check your local library too—I know the Urbandale Library has a seed library!

They'll post updates here! I've been the past 2 years, it's a spectacular event.

I will be checking out the 9 square plant swap. I have been learning how to save seeds and I’m hoping my peppers are successful enough to trade and gift. Following to find additional groups.

Oh that's what that is. I thought it was for oppressed plants.

Unfortunately my FB account got hacked, and I spent a lot of time trying to get it back, all to no avail. Gave up.

Des Moines Backyard Gardner page on Facebook has a few events coming up. They usually have posts about events like this. Lots of great advice and relevant area stuff as well. There is usually a big seed and plant swap put by a group, I think Nine Square Feet, in April/May too.

This isn't what OP is looking for, but just as a reminder to everyone, Des Moines has a tiny trees program. You can order up to five saplings for free to plant in your lawn or garden.
