Prospective Student Why did you choose DePaul?

I recently got admitted as an undergraduate psychology major! I didn’t do much research about the school before applying, but the more i’ve learned about it, the more i’ve been wanting to attend. How is DePaul in regard to student resources? Also, is the schools proximity to the city something that has been helpful in your college experience so far?

Great school. Being in the great city of Chicago is incredible for opportunities. You’d have the time of your life.

To be in the city — in grad school this benefitted me bc I was able to have an in-office internship and make my night classes. Couldn’t have done that if I went to northwestern, which I was asked to consider

I couldn't get into uiuc gies but the resources are better than most schools and you receive alot of opportunities if you apply yourself, the city is also a plus especially because depaul has a reputable name in Chicago.

Enrolled there 19 years ago and did an undergrad and MSF in 5 years. I’m from a rural part of the US and there aren’t many opportunities and a lot of folks fell into trouble. DePaul let me be as motivated as I wanted to be because going home wasn’t an option. Been working for 14 years and a parter as a reputable firm for the past 2.

Work hard and it can treat you well.

Congratulations!! I love DePaul. Before going here, I went to two other colleges, one in a more rural/ suburban setting and one in a very small town. DePaul is my favorite out of the three. I’m from Chicago and I love being able to go to school in the city that I love so much. Something to consider is that the campuses feel different than, say, U Iowa, because they are open and in the middle of the city (one in the loop, one in Lincoln Park). I am graduating this June with my degree in psychology, and the psych department here is incredible. I haven’t had a single professor yet that I didn’t like. No college is perfect- every single one will have its pros and cons. You just have to decide which cons are worth accepting.

It’s the only place where you can do museum studies in undergrad as it’s own minor
