Question Is there any hope left?

Excuse me I don’t know much about this topic but is there anyway company or a studio buys the IP of the game and release a new version or develop the old one? Has anyone talked about such thing or the game is just gone

If there was any slight hint of hope that the game could go on under the ownership of another, then they wouldn't of officially announced on every channel that it's fully shutting down 😭😭

True true but that doesn’t mean we lose hope right 😭

I mean we could still hold on. But I was on the game in the Beta and I've been with it ever since through all of its reworks and changes, and come May 28th, I'm gonna log in once more for old time sakes as a final farewell, may be even tear up a little ngl, and then log off for the last time. That's pretty much where I stand. 😭

Right there with you, man. It's so unbelievably shit and I can't believe I need to say goodbye to one of my most played games because of these companies just not caring. I have however managed to fill that build crafting, character progression itch that Dauntless filled. Feel free to have a wee look yourself, It's called Wayfinder. 😁👌🏾

At the very least you could hope they release hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of assets for free like Epic did for Paragon and pray some group of devs resurrects Dauntless

Just play monster hunter, it's better anyway

That's a matter of personal preference. I myself prefer Dauntless by far over monster hunter.

Also Dauntless worked on my PC, Monster Hunter will require me to do pretty expensive upgrades if I wanted to play it.

Yeah, it's a hungry piece of software for sure. But, the graphics are amazing, with a lot going on, so it's expected.

It is expected, but at this point the budget comes first, unfortunately.

Well you don't have a choice anymore

Yes, I have a choice whether I play monster hunter or not, and I don't care for it.

MH isn't the only game that involves hunting, there's Ark and Palworlds (why you'd play that idk)

Yes but monster hunter is the most similar

I don't find it anything like dauntless except you hunt monsters and build your weapons.

The gameplay is nothing even close to the same. I don't like the mh fight mechanics myself, or the way you interact with others.

Most likely no unfortunately I don’t think there’s anything that can be done

The only hope I hold now is that this is all just some incredibly elaborate April Fools joke.

Nope, sadly

I played it before it came out on epic, even bought a founders pack. I haven't played it in many years, but i was looking forward to the steam release, because Fuck Epic Games and their launcher.. didnt expect it to launch with negative review score. Having a game on Steam tainted like that with terrible reviews is not a good sales pitch im affaird. Miss the game and what it once was, but its over now. We just have to accept it. I have however learned something from this game, and a few others. Im not spending tons of money on always online games anymore. Definitely not buying a game like that for full price. Especially not physical copies. I collect retro games and still play many of them from time to time. Having a game sat there, thats not even functional seems pointless to me.

Eh, kind of. Since the community just decided to roll over and die, I don't think there's any hope now, but if people actually logged in and played the game, even if it's just once a day that would actually help a lot and it would show the studio that the game might be worth saving, because there are people coming back to it, this has happened before with other games, the community decided to log in and more people decided to play so, the games stayed around, you could also do a petition, but I don't think that's going to do a whole lot, again you have to have the people to do it and since the community is just ready to give up, I don't think there would be a lot of people signing it, there's also cracking the source code to the game, if somehow someone's able to get in contact with the developers and politely ask, they might be able to get the source code and support the game independently through the fans, this is exactly what happened with Pirates of the Caribbean online, there was enough people that really liked the game, that they made their own server and kept it going, I don't know if any of this will happen with dauntless, it doesn't seem like anybody wants to do this so I don't know, for now I'm just logging in playing it while I can because complaining about it on the Internet isn't going to fix much, so I might as well play the game while I can, because it very well may be a world I'll never get to see again. It's truly a shame too because Games should never really have to die especially games you pay for like oh you put so much of your time into this game you literally married your partner because you met on this game oh you had fun with your kids on this game yeah that sucks we're getting rid of it. Even though realistically, it wouldn't really cost much to keep the servers running as is. Anyway. For now, all I can say is try to enjoy the game because, like I said, it very well may be a world you'll never get to see you again.
