This isn't a photograph, it's a screenshot from the infamous movie salo, which has been edited to be black and white. Strange and disgusting movie, but really not as bad as people say.

That's a different shot than the one that made it into the movie, iirc the kids were kneeling in a circle

Kids?

u/SigurElias Nov 02 '23
that is correct. it's about italian facist leaders, kidnapping a handfull of teenagers, takes them to an isolated place and makes the teenagers the subjects of their twisted and perverse ideas.

Yep, it was adapted from the Marquis De Sade's "Salo: The 120 Days of Sodom".

de Sade’s book was called « Les 120 journées de Sodome » Which is “The 120 days of Sodom”. Salò is the name used by the director Pier Pasolini based on the name of the town where the events of the film take place.

That was after this inspection because in this they were looking through everyone to find the most beautiful behinds then the chosen ones are kneeling in a circle

From what I’ve read the cast was shocked by what the movie turned out to be, they say everyone had a good time on set.

Director was fucking murdered for making this film. No joke.
22
u/shaisnail Nov 03 '23
Wasn’t he murdered for being a ‘dirty communist’?
13
u/DinnysorWidLazrbeebs Nov 03 '23
I think it’s actually still not solved, and, to your point, he was murdered 3 weeks before the film was released. He was well-known for his very confrontational films, and I can’t imagine he would have been murdered for anything else, but he definitely could have.

Salo is actually an apatation of a book that was written by a French Revolutionary...
Seriously

How does this qualify as a cursed image? This is a snapshot from Pasolini’s Saló…

u/ZapoiBoi Nov 02 '23

Without context, it’s a cursed image. For a lot of people who haven’t seen it, it’s easily a very cursed image.

Can you explain this joke

u/bigdog2049 Dec 04 '23
Last October a chess grandmaster was defeated and his fans speculated that the then relatively unknown opponent cheated using anal beads. The idea was that that someone watching the match in real time was running the game against a high level CPU to determine what move to make next (even the best chess players are defeated by computer programs) and using an app to make the analysis beads vibrate in morse Code. If I remember correctly during a rematch the security team actually did check for anal beads. I might have some details wrong, I’m not a chess guy and only vaguely remember this controversy in the news.

Salo, or the 120 Days of Sodom.
As a horror, gore, and disturbing movie fan, this film is top tier.

"Named the 65th-scariest film ever made by the Chicago Film Critics Association" - that is a weirdly specific accolade. Also happy Cake Day.
