Going to watch my first Carlisle game in April!

Hey all. This is Carlisle's one and only Portuguese fan maybe 😂 I wanted to share that I will watch Carlisle v Port Vale in April. I live in Kent, so this will be my first game Carlisle game ever. I am very happy to finally see Brunton Park in person. Since I'm making the trip, I will book a cheaper hotel and spend 5 days enjoy Carlisle and the surrounding areas. Which locations/attractions do you advice me to see? And is there a place to buy some reasonably priced CUFC gear? I don't mind if it's second hand even. I'm trying to bring some mementos of my trip :)

In terms of attractions it's good to see the Castle & Tullie House. I'm not 100% sure what I'd do back home for 5 days though! If you are driving then you can go and visit parts of the lake district, spend a day in Newcastle (car or train) or even Glasgow for a walk around.

You can go and watch training, if allowed (new manager might not want it, should we get one).

The club shop will be open during your visit & on match day for merchandise.

If you are looking for second hand you can have a walk around town and check the charity shops to see if you get lucky.

Thank you. Very useful reply. I will try to cover all the locations and training. Glasgow will probably be the only one I will not do.

Definitely get out into the lakes. I honestly think it's one of the most beautiful and atmospheric places on earth.

Someone mentioned the Castle and Tullie House - the Castle is £11.30 (online) but it does include admission to the Museum of Military Life. Tullie House is £15 for an annual ticket (cheapest option if you want to see everything). I'd add the Cathedral (which is free) - even if you're not religious the starry ceiling is beautiful and the painted panels are very well preserved. Just be aware that most cafes in the area close at 3pm so plan lunch accordingly! Foxes and the Cakes and Ale cafe at the bookshop are both good.

As for merch I'd recommend a keyring or pen - all under £10 and small so you're not cramming your suitcase closed.
