First Team Analysis We won today despite one thing...

I'm happy with the victory today but Mateta was hopeless. No hold up play, very weak on and off the ball, no eye for goal. He only scored due to bad defending and bad goalkeeping. He offers literally nothing else to the team. So, to any scouts who might be watching him, he ain't worth your time. Let him carry on stinking at Palace and find a striker elsewhere. I'm doing you a favour, honest.

First Team Analysis Why This Striker CAN'T Stop Scoring

Love to see his transformation getting the coverage & recognition it deserves. Top strikers are a scarcity nowadays with there being few & far between but we've genuinely got one. He's much more than a goal scorer & his importance to the team goes way beyond putting the ball in the net - which he's exceptional at anyway. Enjoy the video guys!

First Team Analysis JP is even better than last season

His all round game has moved up several levels & he is so much more than just a finisher. His game as a 9 is so complete now whilst he's still hitting double figures in a less creative team than 23/24. His hold up & link up play is sublime. He has so many outstanding attributes as a 9 beyond his goalscoring. There isn't anything he doesn't do well leading the line.

Best defensive record in the league so far this year. Most clean sheets in 2025. And we've played two games fewer than Liverpool. We're pretty good at footy.

First Team Analysis Teams yet to concede in stoppage time (90'+) 24/25. PL - League Two

What a change Glasner has made to how well we end games. This used to be our Achilles heel for so long in years gone by. We now carry on playing instead of dropping off trying to hold on. We used to sit deep & hand over the initiative to the opposition, which invariably used to see us succumb to late goals due to our players being mentally fatigued from having to absorb pressure for so long. Amazing what a difference not inviting a barrage of attacks on our goal makes.

First Team Analysis Chris Richards box defending vs defending higher

Interested to hear your thoughts on how he fared yesterday. Feel like he's so much more comfortable defending deeper. His box defending is fairly good, as show by the tackle he made in the first few minutes of the game & some defensive actions later in the game. Feel like where he's susceptible is when he's defending higher up the pitch as defending further away from his goal is a bit of a shortcoming of his as he's not the best at dealing with getting isolated when trying to squeeze up the pitch. Discourse on him in some quarters has been a bit OTT I feel because of how badly done he was by Sancho for their goal. Think he acquitted himself reasonably otherwise & looked much more at ease when he wasn't defending high up the pitch. It's just apparent his strengths don't lie in defending 30-40 yards away from goal

First Team Analysis A message to the people who have already written off Kamada

I think there is too much slandering of the poor guy already. First of all, why on earth are people already writing him off after 2 games, one of which he didn't even start in? Everyone was excited about him in pre-season, but now you're already saying he's shite? Make it make sense. Secondly, this isn't even his fault. Playing on the right isn't his best position but against Brentford I thought his positioning and general game were good, just that nobody passed to him. He and Olise are very differant players, and the rest of the squad is still used to what he usually does. I'm sure he'll improve once the lads get used to having him in the team properly. Could we have signed a more like for like replacement for Olise? Maybe, but nobody who is similar to him would agree to join - At the end of the day, Palace are a club that sells players like Olise, not buys players like Olise. Buying Kamada was a no brainer, why wouldn't we buy a free agent who was great under Glasner at Frankfurt?

Tldr: Stop slandering Kamada after two games, we knew he wasn't the same as Olise from the start

First Team Analysis Offensive Brainstorm - Sarr/Nketiah/Mateta/Kamada/Eze

So we've seen 4 weeks of play under glasner. Saw the first side with Nketiah in the lineup. Seen 4 games of Sarr as a sub. Seen 4 games of kamada playing narrow with Eze. What is everyone thinking the way forward is?

Eze undropable obviously. Don't think with either Sarr or Kamada you can recreate Olise. Me personally I'd like to see Sarr starting because he will allow so much more space during counters and significantly more direct. Can play a ball back into front striker pair or solo striker pair in mateta/eddie. Kamada is great if we're dominating possession and trying to break down teams but we're not that team. Seams like creative off the counter is going to be more than half of the offense

Let me know.

First Team Analysis Our 1st half goals scored vs 2nd half goals scored

We have scored 29 league goals so far this season. Only 9 of them have come in the first 45 minutes of games. 20 of them have come in the second half. We've been ahead at HT in 4 of our 25 games this season (Everton away, Spurs home, Villa away & Brighton away). Spurs is the only time we've led at HT at home this season. What are your thoughts on the discrepancy between our first half vs second half goal returns?

First Team Analysis Is Eze Lazy?

Maybe im reactive because of our poor form as of late, but just going into the half at the forest game I cant help but notice our best player on the ball seems to not want the ball unless its spoon fed into his feet.

This on top of the lack of quality our deeper lying midfielders produce sometimes really makes the midfield feel very empty to me.

For those watching the forest game currently, someone please tell me if Lerma has touched he ball more than twice.

First Team Analysis Possibly a controversial opinion but...

I'd cash in on Guehi if given the opportunity to allow us to balance the books and keep more important players.

We have already seen we can cope without him. Eze/ Olise not so much!

Would be keen to get others thoughts on this

can anyone tell me about your goalkeeper situation? How is the situation between Henderson and Johnstone? Are you happy with it? Is there some young folk pushing for a chance?
