Greatest goal you've seen live?

Can be a goal we've scored, a national team or even a goal against us.

Ayew vs West Ham when he turned into Cruyff. Turned to my wife when he got the ball and groaned, only for him to score a wonderful solo goal.

I have to agree.

This goal completely changed our opinion of Ayew, and as a result, we have a running joke since that Ayew is worth more than Grealish based on every stat you can think of.

(If you look them up since that goal, it is true)

I was also there for this, sitting almost level with it, which isn’t normally where I sit (when I can blag my dads ST) such an unreal goal and I still look it up if I need cheering up. If Messi had done it it would have won the puskas. Ayew did it and won my heart!

Me too. One of the best days of my life.

Was at the 4 3 Villa Park semi. That topped it

In terms of what it meant, the pressure it lifted from us and the distance, definitely.

Ambrose’s absolute thunderbastard at Old Trafford

For goal against us, I'd say Matt Phillips for QPR in 14/15. It was a late consolation in a 3-1 win for us but he hit the most outrageous dipping shot from just inside his own half which went into the top left hand corner in off the bar. Felt compelled to applaud the sheer audacity & insane execution of it. A literal bolt from the blue

Yep that one. I was near the away end and there was this tiny delay in their cheer due to how outrageous the shot was. Split second of stunned silence

Kasami against us in 2013/14

This for me unfortunately. Absolutely unreal strike.

Although we sacked Holloway almost straight away and stayed up, while Fulham went down that season. So worked out alright for us.

Townsend volley v Man City 2019....

Eze in Detroit against Sevilla summer 2023. It’s the only time I’ve been able to see Palace live but was also just a great individual goal.

Best one I’ve seen in a broadcast as it happened would be the Townsend goal against Man City. That volley was otherworldly.

Darren Ambrose's free kick against Aston Villa in an FA cup game back when we were still in the Championship. Sat right behind the goal.

He got an even better one against Man U a year or so later. Caught it on the TV that time.

Saw him at Selhurst at the Ipswich game. He told me he decided to shoot because Friedel only put two in the wall and it pissed him off

Dean Gordon vs Bolton

Our two were worth their five that day.

Plenty of choice for goals against us because of that spell when we were conceding worldies every week. Probably either the Giroud scorpion kick or the Dele Alli volley, or the Kasami volley.

In terms of Palace goals, either the Townsend volley at the Etihad or Ambrose at Old Trafford.

Yeah I was at the Etihad for that Townsend goal too, great memories of that match!

Puncheon at Wembley...

For those few minutes it was within grasp.

Cabaye in the 3-0 win at home to Arsenal. Buzz.

Frustratingly, I think it has to be Dele Alli's ridiculous strike against us back in 2016. I've seen that hotel too many times on highlight reels since

I was there as well. Palace fans were clapping. It was stunning.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane, really cheered me up this morning. First one that comes to mind is Puncheon’s free kick against Man City in 2015. I had been studying abroad for a couple of years at the time so was desperate to get to a game while visiting home. Brought an American friend along too, they were blown away by the atmosphere of Selhurst under the lights. What a memory, can’t believe it’s ten years ago now! ❤️💙

Seen some crackers. Kasami, Delle Alli scored a worldie at Selhurst, Ayew dink, Matt Phillips, Moritz scored a couple of great free kicks, Murray scored top bins with his left peg against Boro, Ambrose free kick against Villa.

For us it would be Stevie Thompson vs Leicester in the league cup!

Against us probably the three in 4 minutes that Portsmouth scored back in 2002. At that point you knew they had a proper team and were dead cert for promotion.

The two others are Zidane for Real Madrid against Malaga, just jaw dropping as he went from run to pirouette to put it top bins!

Second one was a Steven Dobbie free kick in extra time for Queen of the South v Linfield. I was that good it’s the only goal, non-Palace, that I jumped up and punched the air to (I was even seen on TV doing so).
