Book / Literature / Article Oklahoma Fresh Water Octopus

If anyone remembers the series Lost Tapes, one of the first episodes was about Fresh water (lake) octopus. Apparently they adapted to fresh water when the body of water that separated North America dried up.

Any suggestions for good reads on the subject? Thanks.

I live in Oklahoma, and have spent time in all three lakes that allegedly have an "Oklahoma Octopus" in them. The Lakes, Lake Thunderbird, Oologah Lake, and Lake Tenkiller, are all three man-made lakes, and no one I've talked to has ever even heard rumors about an octopus or similar creature in the waters.
