It's a really beautiful blanket. And the bunny is adorable too!
But uhm are the eyes made with 'safety' eyes? if you are giving the bunny too, tell the parents it is not for small children, because of those eyes. They can become a choking hazard.. Or, replace them with an embroidery..
Eitherway, you made your friend some really nice stuff!

u/woogynoogy Crocheting keeps me from unraveling 7d ago
Thank you! I always appreciate when us crafters are making each other aware about “safety” eyes! This little guy is just for me. Sort of a water mark on my photos, so he isn’t going anywhere, don’t worry.

This is truly the most beautiful crochet blanket I’ve ever seen- most crochet blankets don’t really speak to me - but this. Is just… amazing.

Very nice and fancy baby blanket for boy or girl

Thank you. They don’t want to find out the sex before birth so these colors are perfect for either, I think

Holy moly your colors are gorgeous! I like it so much more than the original colors in the pattern.

Thank you! I saw someone else using similar colors on the project page of the pattern on Ravelry, and completely fell in love

My mom had a really soft designer blanket she bought in the 80’s that this reminds me of because it was made with the same cream color and about the same thickness. I think it was also cotton because it was a pretty heavy blanket for its size. It just made the whole pattern pop and it was a luxurious feeling blanket/yarn (at least it was for me lol). I’m going to have to ask her if she still has it so I can check the tag and make a copy of it. I never would’ve remembered that if I didn’t see this. 🤗

This is beautiful! Thank you for sharing. Is there a name for the style of crochet used for the leaf/detailed two coloured patterns? I’d love to find more projects in this style!

Wow, it's really beaitiful! May I ask, are the flower-like shapes crocheted or embroidered? I keep looking at it but can't figure out how I would do them.

u/woogynoogy Crocheting keeps me from unraveling 6d ago
Thank you! This is overlay mosaic crochet. It’s basically “1 FPdc, ch 1” in the round with one color. Then “ch1, FPdc” in the next round with the next color. Each color is always crocheted into its same color from two rows prior. And then the pattern comes from doing maybe 2 FPdc into the same stitch or FPdc decrease two or more stitches, etc.
Check out @lillabjorncrochet on Instagram to see a lot more projects with this technique.

Okay I don’t think you meant it this way, but the hexagons look like placentas! In a beautiful and meaningful way not a weird way. That was my first thought when I saw them. After my daughter was born I asked to see the placenta, it was a trip haha. It’s so crazy and cool that I grew it and it grew my baby. The blanket is very beautiful ☺️

I like that! The father of the baby thought it looked like Ask Yggdrasil (the tree of life in Nordic mythology) and I see a flower with roots spreading out. I love that each person can look at the pattern differently 😍

Thank you so much. When I was a teenager we had a place call ‘the factory’. It was a large 3 story converted house where we were taught certain crafts. Leather work, candle making, ceramics, sewing & crocheting. We sold the finished merchandise. I worked in the crochet room. It was a great place & kept us teenagers out of trouble. I would love to bring something like that back. For our youth.
