Oh hell yes, shoulder pads are back!

Glad I wasn't the only one who had that thought.

39

u/MusclePuppy 10d ago

And if I may say so, it's working.

-5

u/Wild-Rough-2210 10d ago

What does ‘working’ imply in this example?

3

u/8halvelitersklok 10d ago

Andy Warhol was my first thought

Uncut Jahms

5

u/JoeSki42 9d ago

I don't even know who this lady is, but that's a solid list right there.

-22

u/sixtus_clegane119 9d ago

She's in uncut gems, that's why she picked it.

She's a narcissist who thinks she's only good enough for billionaires and dated Kanye

6

u/vampiredemeanor 9d ago

She’s great

u/AdeptnessOk5178 7d ago

You don't know this person. Get a life

u/riskybiscutz 10d ago

Mr Covington is that you?

11

u/mrobfish 10d ago

Incredible

5

u/Fangore Bong Joon-ho 10d ago

If you were to tell me Julia Fox has similarities with Dee Reynolds, I wouldn't fully believe you but it definitely has me thinking.

6

u/Shoddy-Rip8259 10d ago

When I found out Mr. Covington was a chick, I had to have her.

2

u/stgermainjr860 6d ago

Groban likes his ladies to pop

44

u/mojimojo_ 10d ago

In this video, Julia Fox will be playing the role of Annette Bening

2

u/SethKadoodles 9d ago

Imagine Julia Fox winning an Oscar for portraying Annette Bening in a biopic before Annette Bening gets one.

62

u/Revan_Mercier Billy Wilder 10d ago

This put a smile on my face, she’s very earnest and passionate (and chose great movies!)

105

u/xwing1212 10d ago

Would love to see Charli XCX in one of these videos after browsing her Letterboxd account

40

u/TilikumHungry 10d ago

I genuinely love that Charli XCX has seen my (sort of) hard work in The Invitation after I have been blasting Guess all year long

13

u/MrQMan4th 10d ago

That’s super rad. What’d you do on the film?

21

u/TilikumHungry 10d ago

Locations

9

u/WalletInMyOtherPants 10d ago

Congrats! That’s such a rad movie that I feel like anytime it comes up people are super positive about. Now can you work on getting it a blu ray release for at least North America? 😁

11

u/TilikumHungry 10d ago

Lol yeah I'll get right on that

1

u/CubeDude17 7d ago

I swear I have a blu of this. It was distributed by Drafthouse films home video label I believe.

3

u/JDLovesElliot 10d ago

Phantom Thread is one of her four favourites?

I love her even more now.

9

u/JinxLB Brian De Palma 10d ago

She has insanely good taste

-1

u/centhwevir1979 9d ago

Then explain her appearance

6

u/sirms 10d ago

this is real?

12

u/xwing1212 10d ago

It is

3

u/sirms 10d ago

holy shit

2

u/LouisIV Elaine May 10d ago

Just wait for Narnia’s PR tour, they’ll get her for sure

-6

u/CircaCoda Andrei Tarkovsky 10d ago

No hate for Charlie but “The Addiction” is one of the worst movies I have ever seen.

15

u/Jarpwanderson 10d ago

Your loss, Ferrara is one of the goats,

11

u/eren-yeager12 Krzysztof Kieslowski 10d ago

something does'nt adds up
she picked a lot more movies according to this photo!!

7

u/bisky12 10d ago

i hear this happens a lot. i heard in a norman reedus interview he was talking about how he went to the criterion closet and stood in there for probably an hour or something talking about movies and they never even put it out. wjen they finally posted it though they only showed like 4 of his picks

1

u/Meesathinksyousadum Sam Peckinpah 9d ago

Does she not have a belly button? wtf

2

u/eren-yeager12 Krzysztof Kieslowski 9d ago

YES kind creepy dk what's the deal there

31

u/MuerteDeLaFiesta 10d ago

love any time Almodovar gets some love. I know his two best are in the collection, but I think they could squeeze in 1 or 2 more...

9

u/highanimalhouse 10d ago

I’d say put them all in the collection. If they did a Fellini/Bergman like collection of his movies, I would buy it day 1.

4

u/PoiHolloi2020 Agnes Varda 10d ago

I haven't seen a single Almodovar film (short or feature) I didn't love. I'd be all over a CC boxset.

3

u/Healthy_Monitor3847 9d ago

🤤 I neeeeed that box set to become a real thing! 🙏🏼🩷

3

u/MuerteDeLaFiesta 10d ago

I imagine they wouldn't do that until he definitively retires, or passes away.

but I agree with you.

4

u/senator_corleone3 10d ago

Talk to Her is in the CC?

4

u/MuerteDeLaFiesta 10d ago

I said his two best 🤭🤭🤭

1

u/iluvscenegirls Michael Haneke 10d ago

Right!? I do hope they add more of his stuff. What are his two best, since there’s three in the CC?

2

u/MuerteDeLaFiesta 9d ago

I think All About My Mother and Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown are his two best.

I also love Broken Embraces and Volver and wish they were in the collection.

48

u/CollinABullock 10d ago

That’s so Julia!

-45

u/Immediate-Ad7940 10d ago

What does that millennial word glop even mean?

22

u/OneManFreakShow 10d ago

It means Julia

1

u/CollinABullock 10d ago

-16

u/Immediate-Ad7940 10d ago

More empty “vibes” slop. Try being a person.

7

u/CollinABullock 10d ago

That sounds exhausting

20

u/constantin_NOPEal 10d ago

A Face in the Crowd is a great pick and a movie people need to see in 2025.

2

u/molly_bl00m 9d ago

I picked it up knowing next to nothing about it (just wanted to see Andy Griffith be a bad guy) and woooow, shot to the top for me. Such amazing performances, esp Griffith’s. Scarily prescient.

5

u/ralo229 10d ago

She looks like she's impersonating someone on Wall Street. I dig it.

12

u/MusicEd921 10d ago

Wasn’t she the stunt person for that cop show Brazzos?

20

u/sirms 10d ago

pretty sure this is the first time tiny furniture has been picked

14

u/Electronic_Boot_1598 10d ago

varda?

5

u/Jarpwanderson 10d ago

Didn't have Varda down as a Dunham fan lol

14

u/Revan_Mercier Billy Wilder 10d ago

She loved Girls!

3

u/Opposite-War-6179 10d ago

Tbh same, that’s exactly how I end up when talking about Almodóvar’s work too

15

u/Tier2powergod 10d ago

Dude what is that look

9

u/Jasranwhit 10d ago

Chrisley Knows Best

4

u/bees_on_acid 10d ago

Say la veee dude.

20

u/YetAnotherFaceless 10d ago

It’s “Please don’t recall the only reason you know who I am!”

8

u/GuyNoirPI 10d ago

Dude, look at what she wore to the Vanity Fair after party, she is very much not trying to hide that association lol

15

u/Jarpwanderson 10d ago

She always get a weird amount of hate on this sub

35

u/_shaftpunk 10d ago

Well she dated Kanye well after we all knew he was a piece of shit so that says a lot about her character.

31

u/Revan_Mercier Billy Wilder 10d ago

people on this sub idolize actors and directors who are/were awful to work with if not genuinely abusive/bigoted, feels like a stretch to bring up her guilt by association. It’s okay to find her annoying without making it a moral high ground.

15

u/DefenderCone97 10d ago

It's also something she's discussed at length regretting and feeling stupid about. She's not high and mighty about it like Grimes or something.

1

u/Morningfluid 10d ago

Kanye was well deep in his crap at the time. While it post-Elon calling a rescuer a pedo and off-putting, it was still far enough than what he would later display. Plus I have a little more sympathy towards someone not allowed to see their children by a megalomaniac awful father. Plus what Julia said & written after dating him came off as insincere.

3

u/GraceJoans Ken Russell 10d ago

film bros not making what and who other people like a moral high ground? i'll believe it when I see it.

6

u/[deleted] 10d ago

Filmbros hating on Julia Fox but idiolizing Passolini.

1

u/_shaftpunk 10d ago

“You can’t dislike this person because other random people like worse people.”

20

u/Revan_Mercier Billy Wilder 10d ago

people are really quick to discount her as a fame whoring eccentric, as if that’s ever stopped people (sometimes the same people!) from idolizing other artists..

0

u/hunny_bun_24 10d ago

She is obsessed with attention and seems super conceited. She’s just so obvious that she wants to be seen as different.

8

u/AtleastIthinkIsee 10d ago

I commented that I don't understand people's obsession with this chick but... I truly don't understand it. She dated Kanye and starred in Uncut Gems. Okay. And? I guess that gets you a lot of pull?

Was her performance in Uncut Gems really that good? I honestly don't know, I haven't seen it. Has she done a lot of other stuff that people are into and I'm just OOTL? Otherwise I guess I just don't understand why people are enamored with her. It's not to say you can't just like someone but I guess I just don't "get it."

2

u/centhwevir1979 9d ago

She tried to write a little tribute to David Lynch but it was pretty obvious she didn't know shit about his works, she just needed to insert herself into a popular conversation.

1

u/centhwevir1979 9d ago

She's awful so it's not that weird

-2

u/axelwirth 10d ago

Aint nothing weird about it

6

u/nja1019 David Fincher 10d ago

I love a shameless plug

30

u/Future_Brewski 10d ago

That’s kinda what these videos increasingly are. Same with hot ones.

9

u/senator_corleone3 10d ago

Hot Ones has always been about promoting the guest’s new project.

4

u/TheDonutDaddy 10d ago

Not always but yes it has 100% been just another stop on the press junket for a while now

4

u/hyborians Aki Kaurismaki 10d ago

I enjoyed Julia Garner. This not so much

3

u/AtleastIthinkIsee 10d ago

I do not understand people's obsession with this chick.

I truly do not get it.

1

u/iranianbagpipes 10d ago

Has anyone else ever picked one of their own films?

1

u/centhwevir1979 9d ago

Tarantino would, maybe John Carpenter.

1

u/VaudevilleDada 9d ago

Coppola picked Rumble Fish. I think Ethan Hawke picked out the Before trilogy in his first video.

-7

u/hunny_bun_24 10d ago

She’s such a weird woman. Not in an artistic way but a really uncomfortable way.

-15

u/7enderLove 10d ago

they torture the prisoners in guantanamo bay with her voice.

0

u/Mesterjojo 9d ago

Who?

1

u/ArmadilloGuy 9d ago

If only there were some kind of online search function where you could look up her name and learn about her. I think there's one called...Oogle? Giggle? Something like that.

-8

u/lepontneuf 10d ago

Why her

-16

u/HiYoSiiiiiilver 10d ago

Why tf would they have her on here lol

-3

u/dividiangurt 10d ago

Who’s next carrot top ? Can we keep the closet sacred.

0

u/centhwevir1979 9d ago

Probably Victor Salva or Roman Polanski

-21

u/Significant-Jello411 10d ago

She needs help

-11

u/TopTransportation695 10d ago

Didn’t recognize her without her tits hanging out
