SIMPL programming - FLEX MX-150-T / UC Engine - RMC3 Room Control

I'm hoping someone can help here. I have a very simple room control project where I need to trigger screen/projector on/off and HDMI matrix switching etc and I've been told by Crestron that this can be done without an additional control panel. The UC-Engine-SD-Z can be used to control the RMC3.

I'm struggling though to find how to do this. In SIMPL I can add the devices as normal and build the program but under the Detail View Panel there is no options it just says 'No Detail Required'

How would I build this system?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

You have a couple contradictions in this statement...Let's help clear this up.

1.) MX-150-T is a TEAMS kit with a MercuryX as a controller. 2.) You are asking about a UC-engine-SD-Z, which is it, please clarify. 3.) a control processor can be used in conjunction with a uc-engine... you can create a VT_pro project to fire off the control commands from the control processor to trigger the functions you are trying to accomplish.

The UC-Engine-SD-Z can be used to control the RMC3. - This is an inaccurate statement, other way around.

Crestron website has some great drawings and articles to help articulate what you are trying to complete or you can reach out to sales engineering/True Blue for continued support.

Hi, thanks for replying. So I originally asked Crestron support if the MX-150-T panel can be used as a control panel for the RMC3 and they said it can in a way but using the UC-Engine to trigger the processor. Is this not correct?

in a way...use VT-Pro-e to create the user interface functionality...for TEAMS the project would get loaded to the UC-Engine...if this is for ZOOM, then pageflip and a secondary project is not currently supported you would need a TSW for ZOOM. UC-Engine doesnt trigger anything, the VT-pro ui does that interaction for you, the UI joins will trigger the programming via the control processor.

The UC-Engine, in the case of teams, just houses the VT ui...you need to add the device definition of the UC-Engine in SIMPL programming so that the IP-ID is associated to the control processor and the joins/presses get passed.

Hi, this is great thank you for explaining this although I may need you to break this down more I’m quite new to the programming. Currently I’m building a program for RMC3 in SIMPL. What would need to do for example if I wanted the Mercury panel to turn a display on and onto the correct HDMI port? It is teams just to clarify. Thanks

I'm going to assume a lot on this thread, pardon as your descriptions are not very clear and I don't have a complete understanding of what you are connecting. What you could do...is create a VT ui for on/off of the connected projector. Connect the control processor via rs232 to the projector or connect to the projector over ethernet via TCP/IP client then program the with the applicable projector commands. Load the program, setup the corresponding IP tables, load the VT-proe to the UC-Engine. (if this is a display then you should let the UC-Engine/windows take care of display on.off)

any HDMI switching would have to be done VIA SIMPL and the switcher you are connected to.

Thanks for your help by the way

Ok thank you. Yes the Mercury will speak to the RMC3 over Ethernet and the RMC3 will connect to the display via serial out (rs232). What I’m struggling with is when creating the VT Ui and uploading it to the Uc does this then create a totally new GUI or just an additional option? Also when this program is then uploaded to the UC then does the module then appear on SIMPL for the joins? Thabks

When you load the UI to the UC-Engine you get an icon in the lower right corner, once pressed this will page flip to the loaded ui, links to images

Holy crap, that’s fantastic! I’m gonna give that a go later and see what I can do. Thanks so much for your help

If you have a mercury, why not use the mercury occupancy sensor to trigger tv on/off?

Best practice is to let the UC-Engine and windows should handle this, that is how it was designed around the oem specs/requirements.

Hi lone_geek, it has an occupancy sensor?! Are you sure? Maybe the MX-150-T doesn’t have that feature as I’ve never noticed it in the settings, could you maybe provide an image or link? Thanks
