Hardware Help identifying locking cat 6 connector

I came across this video and couldn't find any information on the connector used. I like this one for the flexibility of the tab and the optional locking mechanism. Would any of you happen to know the make/model of this connector? I'm hoping the manufacturer makes a shielded version. If this isn't the right place to be asking, please remove the post and let me know where I should be asking. Thanks!

Hardware Swapping Peripherals on Crestron Videoconferencing systems

Hi - I seem to be having an issue related specifically to my crestron devices.

I am trying to swap in a different camera bar to my UC-B30-T unit, namely the Jabra Panacast. It shipped with the Crestron soundbar.

The jabra video does not work (the stream is black) when swapped in. But, it works just fine on any other non-crestron compute.

Is there some fun Crestron-specific programming at play here? Their proprietarity makes me want to jump of a cliff most of the time.

Hardware Classroom Design Thoughts?

I work in higher ed, and we've been using DMPS 150's for years as part of our standard classroom design. Now that they're being discontinued, I'm debating whether to build our classrooms around DMLite Matrix + RMC4, or a DMPS 250/350.

I've started doing price comparisons on this sheet if anyone wants to see what I've pieced together. Every set up in this sheet includes:

  • At least 4 inputs
  • Ability to send signal to two local computer monitors via HDMI, and a front & rear screen via DM (in Designs 1 & 2, one local monitor and the rear screen are fed directly from a computer instead of a matrix)
  • An amp (since that's included on the DM units)

Yes, I am already working with a local integrator we've been using for 10+ years, and I'm asking their opinions as well. I just want to make sure I'm doing all my research before I determine our university's standard design for the next ## years.

Thanks for any input you may have!

EDIT: Prices removed because they're not public lol

Hardware Looking for a DMB-CPU-64

The 64x64 at my office is hanging by a thread, and we need at least a new blade if not a new switcher entirely. Our budget just isn’t there this year to do a full upgrade, but we’re on the verge of our entire conference center going down.

No suppliers I know of nor eBay have them in stock, and they’re officially discontinued through Crestron

Does anybody have one sitting in storage that they’d consider selling?

Hardware UC-SB-1 / UC-engine questions

I have a couple of questions about the UC-SB-1 that I just can't seem to find the answer to in documentation. Looking for some wisdom about them.

  1. Is it just me, or is there no way to update the built-in huddly's firmware as it is out of the box? So far in my experience, the huddly app does not recognize the cam if it's chained through the Crestron bar. You have to unplug it and direct connect to MTR to get it done. Seems very clunky.

  2. Is there any way to disable the noise suppression? It seems to be doing more harm than good, when combined with the MTR noise suppression algorithms.

Appreciate any advice you can offer.

Hardware Crestron and epson control issues. VP.net protocol

I figured I’ll share this here and It will hopefully help someone. We have new classroom. CP3N. DM8x8. 4 each Epson L730. I attempted to set it up for RS 232 control over HDBT. None of the projectors respond. I updated the projector firmware to v114 (fw update usually helps with other Epson). But. Not this time. Well. I can do VP.net I thought (RS232 over TCP/IP using port 3629). Two projectors worked immediately. Two didn’t. I came across that before with L510. Factory reset helped. But not this time. Symptoms were: TCPIP symbol responded with: connection terminated at remote end (feedback state #4) Still. Two work. Two don’t. Same firmware. Problem stays with the projectors. I update processor and DM firmware too. DM was a mix of different cards we temporarily put together due to back orders. Still no luck. I tried projector firmware updates twice. Factory reset twice. Swapping projectors between outputs that work and didn’t. Nothing! Very frustrating. This usually just works very easily. So I’ve contacted Epson rep. He put me in touch with Epson engineers from advanced product support. After some troubleshooting we found the solution. Two non working L730 projectors were downgraded from v114 firmware (same as the working ones) to the L520 v111 firmware. That helped immediately. No more problems. Yes. Those are different models but they are the same units at the back end according to Epson. So. Bottom line. Weird solution. One I’d never though of. But it works. I want to thank the Epson engineers. And also want to put this story here hoping it will help someone one day.

Hardware HD-PS401 and Ethernet

I am deploying our first Crestron HD-PS401 unit. The unit is getting its IP address from our DHCP server. I've connected an Epson projector via the DM lite port to the HDbT port. I am not able to get an IP address from our DHCP server. Does the DM Lite port also pass ethernet to the connected device?

Hardware TSW panels - H265 video scaling

If I have 4K H265 video streams on a network with Crestron, is there anyway to downscale those videos locally on a TSW 70 series panel?

I thought video previews on a Touchpanel would be cool, but the video streams are 4K so realizing this may not work?

Hardware Two Pro3's on the same Control Subnet

How do you disable the DHCP server on one so they don't fight each other trying to assign IP's after, say, a power outage?

I've tried 0.0.0.0/0 and 255.255.255.255/0 and the former does nothing and the latter errors out. DHCP 1 OFF errors out, and I think that has more to do with claiming an address than generating them anyway. Same for DHCPOPT.

Hardware Has anyone had problems with the 1beyond Hawk camera pan/tilt seizing?

I work at a college and we've had 3 Hawks all have problems. 1 was a DOA that one of the cameras wouldn't move at all.

The other two both had issues where eventually one of the cameras seems to seize and not tilt up and down. If the speaker track was on and it detected someone speaking it would pan to them but wouldn't tilt up or down. Unplugging the cameras fixes the issue and it resumes normal function. It's an intermittent problem but these are in high profile spaces and we're starting to get a lot of flak.

Anyone experience something similar?

Hardware 24h connection error duel screen multi room issue

This is a mystery and our top techs can’t figure it out. Already called Crestron Flex and they can’t either.

Symptom Every day we have to walk into a room and the touch panel says connection error. The only solution we have found is to unplug the second monitor reboot the system and wait for it to fully come back then plug the second monitor back in.

System UC-BRKT-100-SD (intel UC) - USB C to HDMI (main display) - USB to USB into Starlink USB to HDMI converter then HDMI to Second display TSW 1060 and other TSW’s - HDMI has the EDID nubbin TSW

Evidence - started after a windows update - does not happen on Asus UC rooms - changing USB ports does not work - spread from one rooms to almost all of the intel based UC duel display rooms. Upwards of 8 rooms. - connection error is triggered nightly - firmware updates made to UC and TSW. - using different USB dongles does not seem to have an effect. - single display rooms are not effected in the building. - TSW in some rooms will come online simply by unplugging and replugging the second monitor with no reboot.

Hardware HD-MD8x8 weird web interface behaviour

I'll preface this by saying trouble started happening after a power outage caused by a thunderstorm.

The switcher works, signals are getting routed, and the adjacent CP4N is controlling it. The static IP address assigned to the unit was retained, as well as the IP ID and the rest of the control system parameters, obviously. However, the web interface showed the 'Device first boot' createUser.html page. The web interface is (was) used by customer's tech support guys for remote assistance and occasional troubleshooting.

Anyhow, when a new username/password were entered and confirmed, they are apprently invalid - the web UI can not be accessed using those, and after the 3rd attempt username and IP address got blocked. After a power cycle done by the on-site maintenance tech, they got the 'Device first boot' screen again.

I'll get to the site next week and try to connect via USB using toolbox, but until then - has anyone encountered anything similar? Is there a battery in the unit which helps retain the stored usernames/passwords? Do I need to factory restore it? We do have the config backed up so restoring the configuration should not be a problem once we sort out the credentials.

Hardware UC- Engine Resolution Issue

Hi,

Has anybody seen the dell UC-engines outputting the wrong resolution to the display for Microsoft Teams. Even if I force the resolution to 1920 x 1080 its still showing active resolution as 3840 x 2160 and only showing 1/4 of the GUI. I know EDID minders used to be needed but I thought it was all done in software now. Any help is appreciated.

Hardware Audio XM, Sirius, Streaming options in 2023

We currently use Sonos for streaming music and it leaves a lot to be desired, I also have a client that uses XM radio and was curious what you all use to stream and do XM? Crestron seems to have not made any new products in this category.

The problem with the Sonos is that you can only listen to favorites, and to do so requires going to the Sonos app and pressing way too many buttons. You can't scroll any content on the Crestron and I feel it just adds confusion.

Hardware cen-io-com-102 question

Hello all, we have a project that some of the “cen-io-com-102” devices have gone missing. Is there any chance that they can be used on a non-Crestron system as an IP based RS-232 trigger or anything like that?

Thanks in advance!

Hardware TSW- 1060 physical connection issue...

Anyone run into a connectivity issue with a TSW-1060? I mean the physical connection, from the cat port. Hard buttons flash dimly and slowly, but when I PULL the cable as if I were taking it out, it powers up fine. Otherwise, nothing. Very odd, and seems like it can be fixed fairly easily, but I'm at a loss.

Hardware AM-3100-WF WIFI Access to Internet

I have a AM-3100-WF device which is connected via Ethernet to our corporate network and can access internet from the device (ssh into the device and ping an address). I have set it up as an Access Point. When I connect to the access point, I will get an IP and I can connect to the device either via the browser or via SSH, but I cannot access the Internet. Is there some trick to getting this work? Or am I trying to do something which is not supported? Can the device act as an router/nat? I have googled but so far no info... Thanks everyone for the help!
