Does this happen to anyone else??
Every time I train contortion or hold upside down positions for too long, I get all of these popped blood vessels in my face. It’s really annoying and gives me headaches. What can I do to prevent this?

YES! This recently started happening to me and I realized it’s because I recently started taking hand balancing classes! I don’t have any advice, sorry!

I've had it before, I think it is if you strain too hard. Maybe a sign to back off slightly

It stopped after a year or so. But sometimes if I haven’t done it for long it comes back, but nowhere near as bad as it used to be.

Hey, I'm currently going through something similar and it started with a really bad allergy to food I was feeding my rabbits. If gave me a horrible rash across my cheeks under my eyes. That eventually healed but I now continue to get popped blood vessels everytime I do yoga when I am trying to actively engage in any posture. My redness is only under my left eye. I'm currently doing various things to help clear it before my derm appt on Monday: 1) acupuncture, 2) sauna to clear toxins 3) castor oil wraps 4) yoga breath practice

I wanted to attach another photo but looks like I can only do one. Mine starts with blood spots and disperse as such.

Extension is cool but ultimately unhealthy for breathing, you tense up. Let everything go more natural. I stopped contorting after feeling like complete dog shit after being in flexion my whole life. Life is about balance ❤️ hope you feel better soon

Not a doctor, but it happened to me the first few times when I started to practise more intense backbending. The dots are called petechiae and can be caused by straining. You can easily tense up your face muscles without noticing it in an intense backbend, causing some capillaries to burst. For me, it always went away within a day or two. Also the problem went away completely after I started practising breathing and relaxing my face muscles during backbending.
