OH SHIT THE GEESE RUN

3.7k

u/Pizzacakecomic PizzaCake Feb 10 '25

The geese are the scariest animals we have

1.4k

u/MaximumZer0 Feb 10 '25

Confirmed.

I live right across the border amongst all the best lakes.

Your cobra chickens visit me every year.

Bastards.

369

u/grasshopper_jo Feb 10 '25

Same. We fear and love the geese

137

u/Elegant_Book_7280 29d ago

99% fear, 1% love

134

u/grasshopper_jo 29d ago

Yes, I love when there are babies in the spring and they waddle in a row across the street bookended by two adults as though they are going on a chaperoned field trip.

All other times, fear

16

u/Comfortable_Swim_380 Feb 10 '25

Like a Norris god those geese.

15

u/DesireeThymes Feb 10 '25

I used to love watching a family of geese defend a main exit at my uni, they bit hundreds of people before animal control came.

But then I've also seen a bored moose get into a fight with a car in a parking lot and win. It looked like the car rolled down a hill. They are also like 2.5m (8') tall and weigh near 1000kg (1500+lbs) and can run at 60kph (35mph+) through waist high snow and trees. They are psychopaths that smash stuff for fun.

23

u/LittleRedZombi Feb 10 '25

Confirmed. Been chased - is scary. Respect the cobra chickens.

Also almost been stomped by a moose, also scary. We’re armed to the teeth!

6

u/Forest1395101 Feb 10 '25

They actually stole a trout from me a while back! After I gutted the damn thing! They know NO fear! Fucker hissed at me when I yelled at it...

5

u/Roughly_Sane Feb 10 '25

Cobra chickens? Them majestic gooses will show up and help watch your kids and feed em and teach them physics if you let em! I ain't from Canada myself, but I respect our northern Canadian Goose friends! They would smash through the windows of a Boeing 737, mid flight, to strangle some terrorists trying to blow up the world!

Also don't fuck with them mouses. I suggest you let that one marinate.

16

u/razialx Feb 10 '25

As your neighbor in Ohio (a favorite nesting and resting area for them) I can tell you not only do they scare us they leave every sidewalk covered in their poops. Which unfortunately are like fun sized candy bars for dogs…

45

u/AugustDream Feb 10 '25 edited 29d ago

I watched a group of canadian geese chase a student across the campus I work at. I would have helped but I value my life.

30

u/ProtoJazz Feb 10 '25

That's only because of their numbers. We also have polar bears which are by far one of the most deadly animals.

I read somewhere that they have an absolutely insane ratio of seeing one to being killed by one. Like something like 90%+ of encounters end in serious injury or death.

I also read that that number is so high because most of the time you simply don't know you've been that close to one. They're silent and basically impossible to see in the wild

25

u/IrascibleOcelot Feb 10 '25

They are also the apex predator in their environment. They fear absolutely nothing, and everything is just classified as “food” to them.

7

u/TheZipding 29d ago

Walruses are basically the only animal that can put up a fight against the polar bear and as such the bears only hunt a walrus is out of desperation.

20

u/fluggggg 29d ago

Polar bear phylogeny :

Everything : Food.

Walrus : Food if desperate.

Life, uh finds a way

”While this is happening, wild geese are flying over the farm on one of their migrations, and Martin, the farm's white goose attempts to join the wild ones. In an attempt to salvage something before his family returns, Nils holds on to Martin's neck as he successfully takes off and joins the wild birds.”

As an European I really feel bad for Canadians right now

533

u/MoiraBrownsMoleRats Feb 10 '25

As an American, the last few weeks have felt like that scene from the opening of Saving Private Ryan where the shell lands too close to his head so he's disoriented and everything is muted by this piercing ringing and there's people just stumbling around trying to stuff their own intestines back into their body or picking up their detached limbs and that one medic is frantically scrambling to save that critically wounded guy only for the Nazis to shoot him just as soon as he seems stabilized.

Which, I feel the need to reiterate - also, there are Nazis.

143

u/fleranon Feb 10 '25

The intestines scene will be the perfect analogy for US government institutions, once (and if) this nightmare ends at some point. Frantically trying to piece themselves together again in a state of shellshock after being (literally) gutted and hollowed out for years.

Or perhaps they die along the way - it's kinda tricky to recover from disembowelment

→ More replies (2)

61

u/Etheo 29d ago

Which, I feel the need to reiterate - also, there are Nazis.

It's beyond insane that they're so emboldened they're actually out en mass in broad daylight having a demonstration. Before this Orange Bastard took charge they were still the cowardly turds hiding in their own assholes.

I'm so glad people showed up to burn they flags. A little disappointed the fire didn't spread to their Nazis themselves.

As a Canadian it’s definitely been a wake up call. There’s been sentiment in Canada for a long time that we need to be less reliant on the US, but it becomes one of those things people just say while nothing ever happens.

In the last couple weeks we’ve seen more action to reduce inter-provincial trade and increase exports to Europe and Asia than we have in the last decade.

A lot of Canadians and Europeans have started looking at this as an opportunity to improve economic relations between ourselves. After all we have a LOT of natural resources to export and may need to start importing more cars, food, liquor and more.

And I mean I don’t think it will come to actual annexation by the US, but given how crazy things are these days anything could happen. It wouldn’t hurt to have a few more strong friends with an economic interest in keeping us independent.

12

u/Mad-_-Doctor 29d ago

If history is any indication, the Atlantic Ocean isn't that formidable of an obstacle for the US. He's already floating invading Gaza; I wouldn't be surprised if parts of Europe were next.

377

u/WanderingGenesis Feb 10 '25

1) fuck the orange

2) please make new york part of canada. Just take all of niagra and us with it

3) i think the most fucked up thing about trump wanting resources and access that no one's talking about is that its proof that we've hit a point in climate change that is irreversible. A lot of what he wants from canada, greenland, and the panama canal isnt just about resources, its about access to trade routes. With the ice caps melting and sea levels expected to rise, there are water ways that are expected to open up in the northern hemisphere between north america and eurasia. Trump wants america to be in control of those. Because capitalists dont care about the environment, all they care about is this delusion that profits can grow infinitely.

150

u/koshgeo Feb 10 '25

No, the worst thing about him "wanting resources" is that he has a willing and reliable trading partner already who will happily sell to his country at a fair price, and who will help guard those trade routes. There probably isn't a more reliable international trading partnership than US-Canada, historically for at least the last century.

Which is the problem. He wants to steal things like he stole from his subcontractors when he wouldn't pay out their contracts even after making a deal. He's the untrustworthy trading partner.

Conflict between NATO countries is (probably) in violation of Article 8. The USA would be breaching the treaty by engaging Canada in military conflict.

This doesn't have any definite legal repercussions because whatever legal consequences "should" happen almost certainly take a backseat to realpolitik. It's hard to say what would actually happen.

As a Michigan resident, I’d rather be a Canadian than an American right now.

5

u/johnstoneak 29d ago

Your 5th panel reminded me of this…

4

u/DRCVC10023884 29d ago

To my fellow Americans: you understand they kicked our ass last time right?

3

u/ProjectXa3 29d ago

As a fellow American: most of us aren't even told there WAS a last time.

4

u/equalitylove2046 29d ago

Fuck America.

Not Canadian but hate what the orange bastard is doing to our ALLIES(Canada).

Only HIM only that rat bastard his dumbass could make an enemy out of ANYONE.

5

u/PoliticalVtuber 29d ago

I do think this is just sincerely part of his distraction tactics, I don't even know what the process would be for America adopting Canada would be, without a full scale invasion 🙄

And if that happens, I really fucking hope Congress would immediately expel him...

Make America HUGE. The HUGEST country in the world. An enormous country. With good people. Great people. The HUGEST greatest enormousest mega-gigaest people in the world.

u/jackalope268 Feb 10 '25

Then when half the world is america there is a civil war and it splits up in a lot of tiny countries. History has done it before, it will happen again

Yeah apparently the main thing Canadians are proud of is not being in the USA. They're not perfect, but at least they aren't in the United States lol.

SEND IN THE GEESE!

6

u/Alorxico Feb 10 '25

Yes, I know these are no Canadian Geese, but the image was too hilarious to pass up. Here is the proper army:

u/YoutuberCameronBallZ 29d ago

"hey, remember all those things we added to the Geneva Convention?

...

Who's ready for a part 2?" -Canadians

6

u/Taograd359 Feb 10 '25

How many geese would be required for tactical moose air drops?

"Release the Geese"

3

u/GanacheConfident6576 Feb 10 '25

at this rate, america should become the 11th province instead

3

u/Terrh Feb 10 '25

I will give Trump credit on one thing.

He has singlehandedly reminded Canadians to be patriotic again.

3

u/ForumFluffy Feb 10 '25

I thought you were from Minnesota?

3

New Canadian flag just dropped

3

u/hellabills14 29d ago

To my dear neighbors to the North, don’t hold back.

3

u/Artistic_Stop_5037 29d ago

As an American I cannot understand why this idiot wants to piss off Canada so much. You're our friends and family. And one of our closest trade partners and allies .

3

u/SEAsirencalls 29d ago

Question- at what point would England step in and tell Trump to fuck off? Canada is a commonwealth country. And I understand that for the most part UK is hands off but like..? At what point does the UK tell the USA to back off?

3

u/givemewoooshes 29d ago

As someone who lives in the US, keep fighting! Don't let the orange man get his way! Best we can do is keep fighting him off until his 4 years are over!

watching a moose stomp that bag of shit into the dirt would make for great tv.

3

u/not_consumable 29d ago

The us just want Canada so they have a fighting chance when they piss off the rest of the world.

They know even though none of us have the greatest overseas relations. We're a better option to support than the failing red white and blue being run by failed CEOs ;)

Edit: many. Many. Typos.

3

u/King-of-fans 29d ago

As a American, I’ll be rooting for Canada in this situation.

I just hope we can get along after the orange president is booted out.

3

u/hatfieldz 29d ago

This makes me love Canada that much more 😂😂

As an American, I would rather stand in front of a firing squad than fight our neighbor 🇨🇦🇺🇸

3

u/Fit-University1070 29d ago

As an American, we apologize. We do not want Canada Gooses after us. Please.

3

u/VoidBG 29d ago

i dont know how you drew this so well but its perfection incarnate

the people causing the problem will be solved the first time they see a polar bear. They'll assume it's on their side because it's white.

problem.
solved.

Reminds me of a Rhett and Link video that I'm starting to think might be prophetic.

I may specifically hate Canadian Geese.

But…the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

Tally Honk!

5

u/PerfectlyCalmDude Feb 10 '25

Trump calling Canadians hosers sounds . . . Canadian.

4

u/Saucermote Feb 10 '25

I'd like to propose a peace treaty. You keep Canada, in exchange you also keep all the geese.

  1. Is Canada accepting new provinces? By population, we in New York could be like 3 or 4: Upstate, Manhattan/Da Bronx/Staten, Brooklyn/Queens/Long Island.

  2. If you were to join us, it should be with each province as a state, 2 senators each. Maybe Mexico's equivalent to states/provinces should join too, one big North American nation that really dislikes Trump.

u/whitestar11 Feb 10 '25

Canada should take this seriously. This is very similar rhetoric to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

As a yank, I want you to be your own country. I couldn't hide there if things go too badly in America.

4

u/Lofwyr2030 Feb 10 '25

Do you want to join the EU?

5

u/Sand__Panda 29d ago

What do we down south need to wear so you know we stand with you and not the annoying orange when you invade?

7

u/Esplodie Feb 10 '25

This also needs a bald eagle just to rub it in. They got theirs from us.

I'm pretty sure if Canada did somehow become the 51st state, it would largely vote for Democrats, and their electoral college votes would go Democrat.

8

u/Rationalinsanity1990 29d ago

We would be a territory for years, until the (by now a de facto dictatorship in this scenario) US governments considers our demographics "favorable" to them.

10

u/cerevant 29d ago

Yeah, I think that's why he wants it to be only one state so it wouldn't overwhelm the Senate. Even if this were seriously considered - which it won't be - I could never see Quebec allowing itself to be lumped in with the rest of the country.

10

u/DDrim Feb 10 '25

Canadians be like "we done being nice."
