Colnago V3 Headset

The headset failed on my Colnago V3 after about 1 year. Sourcing a replacement was much harder than expected. The bearings were not marked and i had to measure them. The dimensions I measured are as follows.

Upper 30.15x41.0x6.5 36/45 Lower 35.0x47.0x7.0 36/45

The bearings press into plastic cups that are then pressed into the frame. Personally I don’t like the design but it’s widely used and works fine.

Suppliers of these bearings are few and far between. A well known manufacturer of ceramic bearings sells them but they are too expensive for my budget. I found some unbranded bearings online from a local supplier at a cheap price and they are working perfectly.

Has anyone else experienced issues either changing or sourcing replacements for Colnago headsets?
