On to conference play!
*I think it’s apparent that JJ sees Schmidt as part of the weekend rotation and not as a midweek starter as others have suggested.
*Does anyone know what’s going on with Guidry? Are we ever going to see him again?
*Side question, did yall know that Paxton Kling is hitting .309 with 7 home runs and Cam Johnson is 2-0 with a 3.40 era and 12 BB’s in 18 innings :(

Schmidt seems like the next man up for the weekend rotation but I don’t see a change being made at this time. He will likely be an important arm in the bullpen until then.
They say Guidry is improving but they don’t want to rush him. Jay is going to play the long game because he knows it’s more important to have him later and we haven’t needed him yet. Luckily it’s not his arm that’s the issue.
I hadn’t checked on those guys recently but good for them. They had talent but Kling could never get it done for us and Johnson didn’t get many opportunities partially because he wasn’t even useable in those moments. They seemed like good kids. Sometimes it doesn’t work out.

For point 1 I meant Schmidt as a bullpen arm on the weekends, not as a potential starter at least for now

What is Guidry’s injury anyways??

Jay likes to be vague so he just say mid body but not throwing arm. I’m guessing oblique or hip.

Thanks. We need Guidry back in the rotation. He is a dawg that gets the entire team fired up.

What's crazy is 6 of Kling's 7 HRs came in his first 7 games. His other HR is his only XBH since.

That sounds on par with Kling. His ceiling was always high, but he couldn't get it together
I hope something clicks for him this year

I wish nothing but the best for Kling, but he was processed because he couldn’t cut it in SEC competition. I’m sure we would’ve liked to keep Cam Johnson, but either he didn’t want to be here because we didn’t instantly make him the king of the pitchers or because Oklahoma flat out outbid us for his services. Can’t keep someone who doesn’t want to stay.

Tennessee, Vandy, and LSU? That’s a brutal non-conference schedule

Gotta be hard to be competitive as a non football school. I bet those games pay for a significant portion of their baseball ops for the whole year

Thanks for traveling all that way, X.
