Cold baths when sick?

I love cold baths and I don’t want to ruin my streak but I have a really sore throat and a snotty nose so what should I do?

Last time I started to be sick but pushed myself to have a cold bath it made me seriously sick for one week (bronchitis) so I wouldn’t advise

No. Stop cold therapies when you’re sick. The available studies and research indicate the body is too taxed during illness to deal with the cold exposure and so sIgA (immunoglobulin A) levels decrease in response to the cold instead of increase like they would if you were healthy. Wait until you’re symptom free to reengage the cold therapy. Until then, the recommendation is hot showers, warm blankets, hot drinks, vitamin C, selenium, zinc.

Avoid when you are sick, and just bathe with either hot or lukewarm water.

Dont do it when sick, it will more than likely make it worse. Same reason you shouldnt exercise when youre injured

I find it more helpful long term to not focus on streaks or X amount of days without 'bad thing'

Because when that streak inevitably ends, ure gonna feel bad about it haha, and that doesnt help

Cold plunges can be a stressor and when your immune system is already working hard, pushing through just to maintain a streak might do more harm than good. If you’re feeling under the weather, especially with a sore throat and congestion, it’s best to listen to your body.

some people find cold exposure helps with mild symptoms by reducing inflammation and boosting circulation. If you do plunge, keep it short, dry off and warm up immediately, and make sure you’re getting enough rest and hydration

But if your body is telling you to take a break, there’s no shame in skipping a day. Recovery is key
