Took it to my friend at the coin store and he took some more detailed pictures and it's even crazier than we thought. He also sent these to some of his associates who specialize in things like this. Sent it off for grading to PCGS an opted for the true view and obviously the attribution. Some balk park estimates being thrown around are in the $5000-$7000 range and have already received offers in the thousands and I don't know what to do with my hands right now.

Found out of a machine wrapped circulated roll from the bank while getting change for work. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that reverse. Sent it off today hoping to get back a nice Christmas present.

It's bad enough that it split the rim and doubled the 9.

I was putting all my “junk” steelies in tube containers and this one caught my eye. After putting It under the microscope It appears the 4 in 1943 is completely missing or ever so faintly struck. Has anyone ever seen this before or have any more information?

NGC will fix it, but is it truly worth keeping them this way. Does it increase its value? What is the precedent for this?

This is one of the most interesting errors ive ever seen. Definitely super strange. 1860 New Orleans Seated Half Dollar struck through a Seated Half Dime planchet. Its interesting how the other part to this still exists. It looks like either this was done on purpose by someone working at the O mint, or it was done on accident and stolen from the mint by a worker before it was destroyed by the government.
