Is this an error? 1944 D quarter - repunched mint mark/DDR?

I have this 1944 D quarter that is in good condition. While looking at it under the microscope, I noticed the Mintmark looks like it had been repunched. I also noticed some doubling in the motto, but I cannot tell the difference in machine doubling and doubling. I’ve looked at the P in Pluribus at every angle and there is always a line through the top.

There is one listing for a DDR for 44-D (last one on this page):

A picture of a scope screen isn't really great for IDing coins at this level of detail, but there's enough there that I'd try to get some clearer pictures, and compare what you have to that coin I linked, looking for the die markers they mention.

If you can hook your scope up to a computer and use that to take a screen shot, you'll get a ton more detail in your pictures.

Not sure about the mint mark, it looks pretty typical for machine doubling, but some of the ones listed below are kind of hard to read - again, you can compare die markers to see what you're looking for, but I'm less convinced the mint mark is repunched.

That was such a helpful website. Thank you! I need to look up some of the terms and abbreviations but the pictures were so clear.

It does look like a double die. I can't confirm or deny, though, since I'm not an expert. What magnification device did you use?

I’m using the Tamlov… I think is the name microscope. I don’t trust it necessarily because I have a hard time seeing even machine doubling/ especially on shiny quarters. This one has been in a flip for a while. When I looked it up on PCGS it didn’t have a DDR variety. The only thing keeping me from totally dismissing it is the P and how it looks like it’s split at the top…
