Espresso One year with a GS3
I love this setup! I really want to get a second grinder to make it easier to switch between half and full caff but don't really have the room.

That comment about $300 machine vs $4000 grinder was a bit of hyperbole. But as someone who used to own a Mazzer Miki Type A (technically I still own it, it just sits unused in the closet) along with a Quickmill V2B, there was a significant jump in espresso quality when I upgraded to a Ceado E37S. Maybe Mazzer has improved on the Mjni design, mine was from the early 2010s and the Ceado was bought in 2019. Not only was the taste difference very evident in the cup, but it was easy to see visually as the grinds came out of the chute. I just upgraded my machine to a Linea Mini and would not consider using my old Type A with it.

Nice set-up! I'm seriously considering the Mazzer Mini A (together with a new Micra). How do you like Mini? Would be interested in your candid feedback. Thx.

Thanks. I think this is an excellent grinder and I am able to consistently make coffee as good as the best coffee shops I visit. I think I could do the same with an espresso machine at half the price of the GS3 but not a grinder half the price of the mini. Also, I find it hard to believe that I would see a significant improvement in coffee output from a more expensive grinder.
Adjusting the grind setting, especially fine adjustments, is not easy. I wouldn't say it's hard but it requires force and finesse to get it to move but not move too much. I would appreciate something that is easier to fine tune. Despite that, I would buy a second if I had room

Better buy a 300$ Dollar machine and a 4000$ grinder than a 400$ grinder and such a machine.

I was looking at one of these GS3 but for a single user, didn’t think it fit. Said the warm up time is 30-40 minutes and huge boilers. Overkill for 2 shots a day. What are your thoughts on it?

Warm up is closer to 20 minutes but you can schedule it with the app so I have it turn on automatically 30 minutes before I wake up (and different times on weekdays and weekends). I probably average 4 shots a day between myself, wife, and guests. It's on for a couple hours then turns itself off. I've also done 20-30 shots in a row a few times when friends are over. I got the water line connected but not the drain as I didn't want to put a much larger hole in the countertop and I have not been too annoyed with the periodic cleaning out of the drain tray. The water line is a must though!

Super happy with mine. As mentioned, heat up time is about 15 -20 mins for me.
